I'm not 100% against some kind of amnesty for some in a deal that would effectively close the border for good and for good, I mean for good. We could have a grand deal which could include a whole lot of things that would not only secure the border but make it so people don't want to come here so badly, including totally ending birthright citizenship and benefits for all illegals and all of their families. Anyone and their families who would qualify have to be self sufficient.

No representation for illegals and no voting. And the whole thing about crossing illegally and then claiming asylum is total bullshit. If you come here illegally, there is no such thing as asylum, you are blacklisted forever. And coyotes, etc. would be labeled terrorists and we would take them out with drones, etc just like we do with other terrorists, even if we have to take them out in Mexico.

The imposition of immigration law doesn’t have to be voted on and or approved, it is the most fundamental responsibility of the federal government. Trump proved in his first term that he can redirect defense funds to immigration. I can’t see how or why Trump needs Democrats to allow him to deploy an aggressive deportation/immigration/border operation.

If you want to pass laws then you have to pass them. It doesn't do you any good to fight for laws that don't pass, which gives you zero of what you want. That's just plain stupid to get zero of what you want. Presidents are not dictators. It takes the House, the Senate, and the president to pass laws.
