He's got 3 sacks in the past 4 games. Before that, he was getting mostly special teams work with 5-10 snaps on defense per game. He is still not a "regular" or a "starter," but the results of him on the field are pushing in that direction.
His name is Elijah Ponder, undrafted out of Cal Poly.
And how the NFL let this kid with a 9.7 RAS go undrafted is a truly marvelous question...
