Is Syria About to Fall?

Now, with Iranian puppet Bashar al-Assad reportedly out of the country, rumors of a coup have followed on the news that Aleppo has fallen to a coalition of rebels:

The sounds of gunfire were heard in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Saturday night as speculation grew that an attempted coup d’etat was under way.

The official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) state television network was off the air Saturday night, and the news outlet’s Arabic and English language websites were unreachable as well.

Explosions and gunfire were heard near the general staff and state media building in the capital.

Local sources said Brigadier General Hassam Louka, chief of the regime’s general security directorate was attempting to oust President Bashar al-Assad, who was out of the country on Saturday.

There was a video of gunfire sounds made by a driver in Damascus. He drove around but the gun fire always had the same loudness. It was suspicious.

Sounds like Turkey moved on Allepo and is now taking Syria with proxies.

More than likely ISIL ISIS types.

Probably killing Kurds

Russia's military said Friday that its Air Force had bombed anti-government forces in Syria to repel "extremists" that have launched a major offensive on the city of Aleppo, state news agencies reported.

Jihadists and their Turkish-backed allies reached Syria's second city on Friday, pressing a lightning offensive against forces of the Iranian- and Russian-backed government.

The fighting is some of the deadliest in years in Syria's civil war.

"The Russian Air Force is carrying out rocket-bomb attacks on the equipment and manpower of illegal armed groups, control points, warehouses and artillery positions of terrorists,"

Syrian President Bashar Assad has vowed to defeat the jihadists currently rampaging through the north of his country, “no matter how intense their terrorist attacks are.” His comments came as the Syrian Army geared up to defend the city of Hama from the attackers.

There was another article from the washington post that said the invaders were syrian people who were anti gov't and anti assad. (purely a civil war).

I'm sure some of them were...but not most or all of them.

Expect alot of propaganda to come.

I think its Turkey proxy forces and funded rebels.

Turkey funded ISIS. This ties up Iranian and Russian troops so oh well.

Syria is cursed. Been soaked in blood forever.

That place is so fucked up and I don't have a scorecard. Who am I supposed to root for?

Awww, fuckit. Just let them all kill each other.

All standard fare Thunk.....~S~

Let's see....Hillary wanted to have Assad killed, but he's the only white guy in Syria.

Assad is aligned with Russia, and the vast majority of "rebels" are extremist Islamic groups financed by Obama and Biden.

We still have troops there to protect the oil fields for the Kurds...

This shit is just too confusing for me.

ditto JG

but i can't help be curious of just what the Ruskies are looking to gain there?

~S~

Bashar al-Assad asked Russia for military support in its fight against the Syrian opposition and Islamic State (IS) in the Syrian civil war, back in 2015. And of course, Russia smelling all that oil Syria has were, they were happy to help them out.

That's why I said it's hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys any more. :laughing0301:

Atleast part of it is russia supplies alot of europe with nat-gas. That relationship is threatened if we build a pipeline thru syria...assad will not allow us to do so (protecting russia economically).

Oh what a tangled web we weave!
