Would you say it's disorder medically? I've read that there's binge eating disorder, knowing this does it bother you that comedians make fun of fat people? Like Bill Maher did with Chris Christie?

It might be a disorder if it makes you fat and unhealthy. But I can pig out on as much as I want to and still only weight 180 pounds.

No
It is a lack of self discipline and self restraint.
That is not a disorder at all.
People since the beginning of time have engaged in activities/habits that harm themselves.
Nothing new.
What is new - is thinking this behavior is beautiful and something to be proud of.

Some peoples DNA is set to "fat". I had a friend whose entire family was XXL, but they were always on some diet.
And none of them every lost weight. Her mother went to a specialist to find out why nobody in their family could lose weight
This Dr. did a DNA study on them, and come to find out, their DNA was the problem. I don't recall the medical terminology, but
bascially, their DNA was set to store fat, not burn it. Therefore they would never be able to lose weight. They weren't obese by any
means, but they were large people.

A lot of people, like me, end up with their metabolism slowing to a snails pace rate when getting older.
So, it doesn't matter how much you eat or don't eat, everything gets stored as fat. If there were a way to speed up my
metabolism for a couple of years to burn off some fat, I'd have definitely done it. I've been able to lose about 20 pounds, but
thats been the extent of it. After I lose 20 pounds, I can't seem to lose any more.

And yes, people DO have an OCD about food and eating, but I wouldn't call it a "disease". It is definitely a disorder though........
as a disorder is a disrupted or confused state. And the OCD food habit is what causes the disorder.

A disorder can be corrected, if it's medically determined that there is no DNA or metabolism issue involved.

Some people like to be fat, as fat has it's own guarantees of certain privileges. Like being left alone when out in public.
It is more of a hinderance than a positive use, but still.......it's easier to just be fat than to have to verbally deal with people.

Then again, what does it have to do with you? Somebody else being large, husky, chunky, fat, or obese has nothing to do with you.

Bullshit.
Not at all true. PERIOD.
What is true is some people's genetics make it more likely they will be fat IF THEY OVER EAT.
There is an interesting video a nutritionist made several years ago where she happened to notice an old video of a city population from the late 1800s. There was virtually no fat people.
So intrigued - she looked up videos of cities all over the world from the late 1800s - 1970s. And - WHALAAH - almost no fat people. And then showed videos of the same areas of the same cities of post 1980s - and what do you see?? Fat people everywhere.

I once saw a guy wearing a shirt that said, "Overweight people are harder to kidnap."

God bless you and them always!!!

P.S. If you are ever wanting to lose more than 20 pounds, it could be done if you put yourself on a strict enough diet. I lost my 90 pounds in ten months. If I had continued with staying as disciplined as I was, I probably could've lost more. Actually, if you starve yourself enough like the lady in this clip does, dropping any kind of weight can most definitely can be done.

I'm 67 and weigh 125. I used to weigh a lot more, but my doctor got a metric scale and it did wonders for my weight.

I am 58, 6'3" and weigh around 215.
When I was 44 - I was 6'4" and weighed 250. My brother got married and I saw a number of high quality photos of myself. For the first time in my life I thought "I am fat".
I stopped eating shit food. And I lost 30 lbs.
Today, at 58, obviously my metabolism has slowed a little, my testosterone levels are lower (like every other older male in the world) so that means my propensity for putting on weight is higher.
So I don't over eat.
It is not difficult.

I'll be 41 at the end of June and I am five foot six inches. Three years ago, I was 150 pounds after a ten-month diet. I was 240 when I first got started. How are things now? Whatever motivation I used to have is currently a thing of the past. Sadly, it was ripped away from me by way too many people and they decided to take it with them when they died.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

83 this month. 5' 10", 145 pounds.
Was 6', 170 at 18 y/o.
Max weight ever was 185 at 30 y/o.
Some major medical problems
later in life but still slender, energetic and active.
Praise the Lord.

Same age as my mother.
I sometimes envy the time in which you lived... stable employment, before corporations took over everything, most businesses were still locally, or at least regionally owned, no internet insanity, you knew your neighbors... etc. etc. etc.
Thank God I am not young today and growing up in a world gone mad.

All true. Life was better then in so many ways.
Best of all was being a teenager during the 1950's. :)

Jules: You remember Antoine Roccamora, half black, half Samoan, used to call him Tony Rocky Horror?

Vincent: Yeah, maybe. Fat, right?

Jules: I wouldn't go so far as to call the brother fat, I mean he got a weight problem. What's the n*gger gonna do? He's Samoan.
