Could you please respond to Trump’s claim that he’s going to use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to round up immigrants if he wins the election? This law was last used to put Asian Americans in internment camps during World War II, and I have a sneaking suspicion that if Trump wins, he’s going to use this law to put anyone that doesn’t look White in camps, and I’m scared.

Harris responded, “Yeah, so you’ve hit on a really important point and expressed it, I think so well, which is he is achieving his intended effect, to make you scared. He is running full-time on a campaign that is about instilling fear. Not about hope, not about optimism, not about the future, but about fear, and so this is yet another example.”

Well, first you’d have to understand the concept of sarcasm. The left, either by willful ignorance or intentional misrepresentation, completely missed the concept of sarcasm.

Either that, or they are doing it intentionally to keep the fear alive.

The problem is that this statement is not a stand alone comment. Trump has a history of open admiration for authoritarian leaders and multiple times has expressed what he would like to do (often with seeming to realize that the Constitution prohibits it). He isn’t being sarcastic, he is expressing an honest desire.

That unless he's elected, we won't have a country any more.

That the nation will be destroyed in a nuclear WWIII if Harris is elected.

That immigrants would walk into your kitchen and cut your throat.

That if he doesn't win, Israel will be eradicated.

How is that not a campaign of fear?

You can make a solid argument that EVERY SINGLE PRESIDENT as acted as a dictator each time they passed an executive order or granted a presidential pardon. The only difference is that Trump spewed out a few words his political enemies can run with. They know they themselves are full of shit, but slinging mud is what happens in elections.

I find it so fascinating that MAGA is outraged not by Trump's insistence he'll be a dictator, his advocacy of using the military on the enemy within, or his call for the termination of the constitution.
