Is it possible to restore the child tax credit back to where it was?

But would recanting it be the kiss of death to the politicians? The people who are now enjoying sll that extra, tax-free money would vote them out of office for taking what they have come to see as “their money” away.

The young mother I know just quit her part-time job and told me of all the special treats she bought for herself with her newfound cash flow. I’m sure she would vote against having to go back to her job and give up her increased spending ability. Now multiply that by the 70 million or so getting the new freebie, and well….you can see the problem.
Maybe you should stop hanging around with people who want to live off welfare so that you can untwist your panties.

Either that or your post is total bullshit.

The fake labor shortage also does not cause inflation as some here falsely claim.
Another liberal who is clueless about what causes inflation. Here’s a hint: when people refuse to work (because the socialists are handing them other people’s money), and ships don’t get unloaded, and truckers don’t drive the goods to the stores, and manufacturers aren’t building products, etc., etc., it results in FEWER GOODS. That means the prices go up.

It‘s really scary how people who like you vote. You have no clue as to the damage being done by the policies you support.

10k is nothing. It does not affect business getting employees whatsoever.
Same clueless liberal. $10k is enough for some people to quit their part-time jobs, which they took to contribute to the family income and put food on their table, because other people are now being forced to cover those expenses.

Why should Grandma, making do on social security of $25,000 a year, have to pay inflated prices (which happens when you pump money into the system) so that a married couple in their prime, earning a middle class income, get welfare payments?

Right now there just isn't much of a call for fiscal sanity/responsibility. 10 years ago we had a grass roots movement to cut taxes, the TEA Party. But it kinda died off, or at least it appeared to do so. Well, now we need a SEA Party, Spent Enough Already Party that gathers enough strength to return this country back to the days when profligate spending was abhorred. There's gotta be enough political support for that amongst the voters, otherwise it ain't going to happen.
Too soon. That movement cannot materialize until the left is overwhelmingly removed from Congress. Liberals have to be shut down before the RINO hunt begins. One thing at a time.

It is counter-productive if they don't want to work. That is the part Democrats can't seem to grasp.
Well a couple things. Things are out of wack in this country. The rich keep getting richer and we keep getting poorer. So this child tax credit, is one way for us to take back a little of what was taken from us. There seems to be an economic shift where the middle class isn't doing as well as we once did but we see the rich getting richer for a variety of reasons. One being tax breaks that primarily help the top. I hope they don't get this child tax credit but I bet they do too. Anyways, this is a big raise for the American people.

I don't think you Republicans appreciate this tax break that Biden got you. You have kids right? Then you should be sucking his dick.

Also, they want to encourage FAMILY, and they apparently need poor people to have more kids. If that's the goal, then this is a great tax credit. It will allow the woman to stay home and raise the kids or pay for daycare if she wants to work.

But if course you Republicans will spin it to be a negative.

I kinda think it does, or at least reduces it. Cae to share why you believe this to be true?

And I don't believe that Joe Manchin's decision to not support the BBB Bill equates to austerity, which you implied in your post #62.
You kinda think wrong. Inflation is caused by energy prices, supply, and demand. The “cure” for inflation is to fix the root cause of price increases, which in this case is supply shortages.

We do have children but we don't get the credit because we make too much money. We get to fund it though.

Biden's build back better plan contains free preschools AND makes the child tax credit permanent. This is the first step to universal income I guess. Many people are just dumb enough to fall for it.

Do you want to change your story again?
I notice you didn't reply back after I showed you religious people tend to not believe there is life on other planets and non believers tend to be more open to the idea. Proof religion makes you dumb and is indeed behind the reason so many of your kind believe there is no life on other planets.

Instead you chose to reply to this post? Pathetic. You're obsessed with how many children I have. Stop thinking about my family creep. You wouldn't want to wrestle any of them they aren't asian boys.

The ”expanded” child tax credit is a misnomer for many: the tens of millions of people who pay no income taxes whatsoever now get thousands of dollars in welfare per year. A young couple with three children, who owe no taxes, get around $10,000 a year, taxfree, or the equivalent of a part-time job.

This has caused three problems:

1) Mothers with part-time jobs have now quit them because they don’t need the earnings anymore, exacerbating the labor shortage

2) Those who did not have jobs now are flush with cash they never had and spending more freely, also exacerbating the labor shortage, inflation is rampant.

3) As far as the inflation, the parents getting several hundred dollars of OPM can absorb it, but it is causing a massive hardship for young singles, childless couples, retired next couples, and of course our senior citizens on modest fixed incomes,

There is something very wrong with policy that allows only a certain segment of the population to improve their lives when it harms other segments of the population.

Can we reverse this back to the original? In doing so, we would remove at least some of the pressure on inflation and reduce the financial hardship caused to people without children..
The expanded tax credit expires in January. Families with children received their last payment on December 15.

So you can unbunch your panties now.

No it doesn’t. The Socialists quietly voted for continue government support checks for another year.
