It was a shocker to me, but some 80 plus Hollywood celebs signed a letter supporting the war on terror

What did not surprise me was the liberal MSM ignored the story.

Again if you do not watch Fox News, you have not heard about this

Media Ignore Celebs Against Terrorism
Posted by Matthew Sheffield on August 18, 2006 - 14:53.
Have you heard the news of the latest celebrity political pronouncement?

For those living in a cave, Bernie Mac, Nicole Kidman, Michael Douglas, Danny De Vito, Bruce Willis, and a host of other celebs recently signed an issue ad taking a stand…against terrorism.

Didn't hear about it? That's no surprise. According to Nexis, not a single American news organization other than Fox News Channel has covered it.

Say what you will about celebs "shutting up and singing," but the fact that this isn't getting nearly the coverage given to anti-Bush and anti-American rants of lesser lights like the Dixie Chicks or Michael Moore is a yet another nail in the coffin that the media in this country is sorely lacking in political diversity. (Full text and signers here.)

HURRAY FOR HOLLYWOOD:

NICOLE Kidman has made a public stand against terrorism.

The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper.

It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.

"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.

"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.

"We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."

Not to disagree, but I haved to take the same stance on Hollywood stars that support the war that I take on those that don't. In a proper forum, no problem.

But, when celebrities abuse their access to the media, and or abuse being center-stage at a show to force their political views on others when they were paid for their entertainment abilities not their political opinions, I have to cry foul.

Naturally, I agree with those who support the war on terror, and it damned sure reflects in my purchasing power. However, when I go to a concert, I want to be entertained. I can hear political ranting at home on the tube. Or better yet, log on here and participate. THIS is a proper forum!;)

Being pro-WOT and pro-Bush isn't controversial.

The MSM doesn't care about non-controversial subjects.

What was Tom Cruise thinking when he let her go?

But I was surprised to see liberal celebs siding with Pres Bush on this issue

It was really the other way around. Most people think they split because she did not believe at all in Scientology (and they couldn't agree on how much involvement in their family it should be). Called it "crap," etc.

Only a very small percentage of today’s Hollywood crowd will ever “see the light”, as you put it. The goal of the Hollywood crowd is to draw the rest of us into their non-reality, rather than their dealing with the reality of actual life.

But, like you, my hat’s off to these few people who were willing to voice a different opinion than that sounded by Hollywood’s ruling elite.

I have to admit, that I might have been wrong to say I was suspicious of these actors.... I've been reading a lot, where their coming under a lot of attacks for signing this.....

So, I will agree with you now, AA...
And say, my hats off for them who signed......

Was Sen. McCarthy really out in left field when he was making headlines back in the 50's trying to "root" out communists from the Hollywood crowd of that day?

The Senator's life and reputation were gradually ruined by the MSM.

He was made out to be a "wacko".

I think we could use a few more Senator McCarthy's with his zeal, nowadays to root out all the anti-american sympathizers that have infiltrated all three branches of our government.

McCarthy is demonized because he got too close to The Tribe. The communists and socialists he targeted were largely Jews, though he never called them that, and his assistant, Roy Cohn, was a Jew. Still, Jews get out the knives for you whether you call them by name or not. That's why Tailgunner Joe is a "wacko" today, courtesy of the information conduit controllers. You will see a hundred movies about the "horrors" of McCarthyism, the evil of the Nazis, the bigotry of the Klan. But you will never see a movie about Jewish extermination of Arabs or Jewish takeover of Western media, government and law.

There is a single narrative allowed, and that is the story the Jews want told. You will hear no other versions until their power is broken.

And think about the lunacy of that, that petition is in no way an endorsement of Bush but rather a petition of solidarity against terrorism, and YET the Lefties still have a problem with it. I can't figure out if much of Hollywood is Communist, Anti-semitic, or just plain stupid?? Maybe all of the above.
