I can't imagine as a father, driving down the road with your family, minding your business....and in the blink of an eye, you are shot in the leg and look and see your child is also shot..and dying..and there was nothing you could do to prevent it from happening...because some evil bastard decided he would just randomly shoot at some cars, because, somehow, that is what meth makes you do..which is bullshit....this isn't going to be something you can just blame on drugs....this is our culture...this is American culture...just the same as black kids shooting each other left and right -- that is American culture...these people didn't grow up in another country, they grew up in AMERICA.....


However, there is a special kind of self-hate that is evident among black folks.....there has to be, to think you can go to a funeral and shoot people at a funeral...as what happened just yesterday....but as someone once said....it is the hate that America produced.....so it is still an American problem.....

That is the saddest question that most people consciously or unconsciously ask themselves every day.

Of course, the answer is: you cannot.

Just as you cannot tell the good Asian Americans or Caucasian Americans or Hispanic Americans or Native Americans from the bad ones.

Because African Americans have an unusually high percentage of "bad" ones, we are more on edge with them than with others.

For example, if the elevator door opens and inside are only 3 African American male teenagers, we will be more hesitant to enter than if we see 3 male teenagers of the other ethnicities (who might actually be more dangerous than 3 African American teenagers).

That is the tragedy of this strange and unique nation.

Really good post, thanks. I agree with just about everything you said. We clearly have a society that is deteriorating and there are multiple reasons for that and that deterioration shows up in many ways. "Gun violence" is just one of the ways but it is the most visible because it results in senseless tragic deaths on a daily basis. With respect to Black people such as the ones who shot into a crowd at a funeral, the root cause of that is drug gang culture and a sense of hopelessness. All they have known is violence, drugs and death since they were little kids. Abuse is rampant, families are dysfunctional. I have posted many times that you can ignore the inner city killings as just those "darkies" (to use your word) killing each other" but that is wrong. It is a cancer and it affects all of us in one way or another.

There are obviously White people who kill and the reasons are similar, dysnfunctional home life, drugs and hopelessness. Our leaders choose to ignore the root causes and focus all of their resources and attention to blaming the guns. That is a proven failure. How about blame the drugs companies who pay doctors big bucks to over prescribe their meds? How about blame the drug cartels and China for flooding our country and inner cities with drugs? How about holding city leaders accountable to the drug gang war zones they do nothing about? How about the Media stop hyping every "mass shooting" 24/7 and encouraging the next mentally ill, hopeless person to go on a shooting rampage?
