Is google chrome computers junk ???

Do they actually last or do they just crash after a year

I know Linux makes great software but it seems more suited for advanced users ??

Nothing wrong with Chromebook as long as you understand what it is... and what it isn't.
It is not a full laptop computer. It cannot operate the vast majority of software made for computers.
Chromebook is basically a "web browser in a box".
For the past few years Chrome added Android capability which added a large number of apps you can run.
If what you do with a computer is use the internet.... then by all means consider a Chromebook. They are pretty solid today.
