Why is Iran now the target of regime change? We know regime change never results in anything positive for the US. In fact, things sometimes get worse. So, Trump’s promise of no more wars was a breath of fresh air for many. It may have been key to getting him back into the White House. So, why is Iran on the block for regime change now?

Well, let’s see, “Death to America” and we want a big bomb along with long-range missiles to attack Israel may have something to do with Trump’s decision. Iran would like nothing better than to destabilize the region and maybe bring about a nuclear standoff with between the US and Russia.

I am against regime change under most circumstances because it seldom works well. I know why Trump is doing what he is doing but I am leery of what could happen. I have not forgotten the 1979 hostage crisis, so this is not new.

What do you think?

I, quite naively, thought Trump was serious about putting America first, draining the swamp and eliminating the Satanic pedophiles.

He said he would. He’s old, not looking for a career after his term ends, had nothing to lose. So, yeah. That would have been the time!

Sadly, he’s just another blackmailed Puppet

The best thing is now people are starting to wake up and see how upside down and crooked most of this world is

There is big change coming and it’s NOT the Iranian Regime

We don't really know how people who have been radicalized (involuntarily) for so long will conduct themselves after their oppressors have been removed.

I personally think more and more women and girls want to get educations, be seen in public without being forced (with the threat of death) to a wear a burka, etc.

I also think those oppressors would still be alive right now. . . if they didn't engage in the mass slaughter of protesters to the sums of tens of thousands killed.

The added chance to take out even more of their nuclear cat and mouse hardware and desires was at least an added bonus, even if it wasn't another motivating factor.

The Iranian regime is a cancer in the Middle East, not just to Israel but to Sunni Muslims and anyone else they don't like. Regime change is a crap shoot, one merely hopes that the Persian people can rise above this.

But Our Beloved President is posting a message to others in this world: Don't **** with the United States.

And now we have YET ANOTHER reason to impeach him. Won't the next couple years be fun?

Just FYI, Iranians do not usually wear burkas. Most people confuse burkas with the hijab.

You are confused. Regime change is not the same as nation building. Nation building sometimes works - look at South Korea - but it is not Trump's plan. In this case, the plan is to destroy the remnants of the ayatollahs' regime and then leave it to the Iranians to build a new one, setting limits as necessary on their future behavior.

There will be no US occupation, in fact few if any ground troops in Iran, but the US will not allow the new Iranian government to pursue nuclear weapons or long range missiles or to brutalize its population the way the ayatollahs have, or to foment rebellion and support terrorism across the ME as the ayatollahs have or to interfere with trade in the Gulf or elsewhere. In short, the new Iranian government will not be allowed to be a menace to other countries the way the ayatollahs have been or it will quickly join the ayatollahs in the dustbin of history.

Btw, it is hard to imagine any new Iranian government that could be worse than the present one.

He’s not blackmailed. He’s just a boomer who loves Israel. I’ve never met a boomer who didn’t love Israel.

Until the boomers die off, we’ll always be “allies” with them.

I don’t care about Israel, I am just glad the Iranian Regime is finally falling. In the end it should result in a semi-free Iran and some stability in the region.

Well made points, and to further that, look at the country Japan became. was that regeime change or nation building? it didnt turn out too bad in the end both for them and the rest of the world. Also to the naysayers... the people of Iran are very unique and nothing like the peoples of other M.E. countries in the area.
The outcome would not necessarily follow the same path as a place like Iraq... I doubt it very much. The Iranian people have proven they have much more resolve and they are very educated.

30 to 40,000 protesters killed is part of it.

Decades of weapons and proxies kiling Amwrucans great examples are the IEDS in Iraq and Afganistan.

In a persinal note. For the Kuwaiti Mine fields operation praying mantis.
