Iran to sign deal

Iran's military has been utterly destroyed yet somehow they are able to project enough force to keep the strait from opening. Weird.

Can oil be transported across the Indian ocean by rail?

Joe Biden is Building a Train on the Ocean #joebiden #letsgobrandonchallenge #agentsquiddy
Biden might do that, but Copilot says this:

Yes — Iran is currently shipping oil to China by rail as part of its effort to bypass U.S. naval blockades restricting passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
Since the U.S. blockade began in April 2026, Iran has significantly increased freight train traffic to China, tripling the number of oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) shipments in just over 50 days Moneycontrol. The main route is the 10,400‑kilometer China–Iran railway corridor, which runs from Xi’an in China through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan to Tehran The Diplomat+1. This overland link cuts transit time from about a month by sea to roughly 12–15 days

Actually Hormuz is not technically "closed". The US is providing safe passage closer to Oman thru a new channel. At least that is what Copilot is saying.

"While the U.S. is not actively escorting ships through the Strait of Hormuz, it is providing limited, targeted support to help vessels navigate the waterway amid ongoing Iranian blockades and security threats. This approach balances the need to keep the strait open for global energy flows with the limits of U.S. military capacity and the risks of escalation"
