Everyone wants to be a gangster until it's time to do gangster things. I wonder how Katy Perry would like that joy ride?

16,000 mph of kinetic energy. 250 miles of potential energy. And we are going to convert that into thermal energy to bring you home. Buckle up!

How amazing is it that a bunch of ham-fisted, vodka-swilling, Slavic-squatting Russians could actually build something that doesn't go down in a ball of flames?

I just wonder how many hours are on those old Mi-1 and Mi-8 choppers!

Aren't those the same ones they used in the Soviet-Afghan War?

Geez, that was something like 40 years ago, wasn't it?

I had to look it up:

The Mi-1 was retired in '83 by the Soviet .mil but is still used....The Mi-8 is still in production with 300 built a year!

Looks absolutely mortifying on reentry.

You can see it on their faces too.

A few heat shields and some tiles are between them and becoming a post toastie.

And everything about it is so....Russian.

For a country that's been in existence for over 1,100 years, you'd think those Russians could have put readable markings on those controls, instead of all that unintelligible Cyrillic scribbling.

That's what we get from a nation of fetal alcohol babies.
