Our governor Mike Pence is the definition of a boss. Unemployment was about 8% when he came in, and now it's in the upper 5's.

Indiana leads nation in manufacturing jobs gains

Even better, we're adding 13,700 manufacturing jobs, #1 in the nation. Thanks to conservative policies and economic freedom, Governor Mike Pence and the Republican state legislature are getting the state back on track.

Meanwhile, in liberal Illinois, "Illinois lost 8,900 manufacturing jobs over the past year, the steepest decline in the country." Indiana is #1. Illinois is #50. I think it's safe to say Illinois lost jobs to Indiana.

Yet another example of the success of libertarian economic policies and the failure of big-government socialism.

The thing I love about this news story is how crystal clear the causation is.

It is true that many conservative states benefit from natural resources, but Indiana and Illinois are very, very similar states in most regards. The biggest difference is politics, and the difference is between #1 and #50. I mean, think about it. Would you favor policies making you #1 or policies making you #50? I don't think that's a tough choice.

Just watch: Don't be surprised if some law is passed that somehow limits the ability of a state to attract new businesses from other states that are not employer-friendly.

We should ask JoeB131 why this is.

Because Indiana is practically a third world country?

seriously, guy have you ever been to Indiana? It's ******* depressing.

with that said, I leave you with the Wisdom of Benjamin Disreali....

"Mendacity comes in three forms, Lies, Damned LIes and Statistics."

The kind of jobs going to Indiana were the ones we really didn't want.

Indiana #1, Illinois #50 in New Manufacturing Jobs

This fails as a false comparison fallacy.

It likely fails as a post hoc fallacy as well, as there's no evidence cited that the increase in jobs was due solely to specific political policies.

Indiana is a job taker with very little innovation, entrepreneurship or business formation. They are simply low wage bottom-feeders riding others coattails. Illinois is a state of high innovation job creation.

I drove through Indiana last year & they have the worst road system & inefficient movement of traffic. Hardly a overpass or interchange to speak of. 4-way stops, stop & go traffic lights has traffic at a crawl all day long. There traffic adds 2 hours to the workday & eats fuel. Gallup ranked Indiana as having the least healthy population in the country & very low well-being. CNBC ranked it as one of the 5 worst states to work or live in. Low wage, low education, heavily polluted air, water, soil, high crime, bad roads, poor health, third world hell hole. I dare you to move there if you think it so great.

Illinois unemployment rate 7.1% Indiana 5.9% given that I wouldn't be doing stuff to send any jobs to another state.

Uh, yeah, okay.

Again, if you've ever been to Indiana, you wouldn't say that.

Honestly, had to drive through it a few times, it's always ******* depressing as shit.

Uh yeah okay go tell that to the 7.1% who are unemployed. Somehow I doubt the majority in Indiana share your view of the state one state is below the national unemployment average and it gets trashed another is almost double the national average and it gets praised that's some unique logic.

No, it's still a pretty dismal place to live.

Losing usually is depressing.

Again, just because they are happy being a third world state with a lower-middle class average income doesn't mean we have to do that.

Job creation isn't important if you aren't getting good paying jobs. I'm sorry you don't understand this.
