Since this confederate shit has come up again...mostly from uninformed liberals...its time for more inconvenient history. (Flag should come down btw).


SO....Abe Lincoln. The real one...not the Hollywood or Obama version.

He had a grand plan. Colonize Panama. Create a coast to coast highway (early dream of Panama Canal).

He even met with black delegates and shared this plan. To do it...he wanted to deport all blacks to Panama...and let them own it...and be gone from America.

But since many blacks were still owned as property by US citizens...he needed slaves freed. Once free...they arent property. ..and he can deport them.

We know the rest. And several things ended Lincolns Panama dream.

So yeah...the war was about slavery. But it isnt as good vs evil as people think. Neither side gave much a fuck about blacks.

The Emancipation Proclamation didn't free all slaves, just the ones in the Confederacy. It was a war tactic -- to disrupt the opposition.

You do know there was a war on, right?

By the way, 1862 cannot be called a "current event". This belongs in CT.

Lincoln met with Frederick Douglass to discuss repatriation to Africa or colonization in South America. The plan was to provide ships and pay for the voyages. He was a little confused when Douglass said that blacks wanted to stay. They hadn't experienced a nice time in the US, after all.

Seem like you resent the freeing of the blacks, since they were after all, the property of the slave owners.
