However, you are right about the popular vote. In the past nine elections, the Republican candidate has won the popular vote only twice.
In all three of his elections, Donald Trump never achieved 50 percent of the popular vote.
This does not bode well for the Republicans in the long run.
The Republican Party is dead. They just don't know it yet. Time is not on their side.
It's a zombie party now. They all grunt and growl the same. Their brains are all rotted.
Eventually, they will decay away and be supplanted by an actual conservative party.
