It cannot be a civil war when two actual countries fight each other. This is why it was a war of secession.just think ..... Civil War
If I knew then what we know now I would have to be neutralno
i mean the Union or the Confederation
So Quantrill's terrorists were out of the question for your support? If I knew then what we know now I would have to be neutral
Meaning i could not join the Yankees and fight my own people, but preserving the Union was the right thing to do
So I would have joined the Texas Rangers to fight the Comanche’s
I have already answered the question and wont responds to sneering bs from youSo Quantrill's terrorists were out of the question for your support?
The James Brothers were part of his gang and yet Hollywood made them out to be Saints, the Confederates had a POW camp at Andersonville Georgia that held 45000 Union prisoners, from what i have read it sounded like Dachau.i read upmon Quantrill .... he was a psychopath ...
In 1862 the Cotton weavers in Lancashire refused to work with slave Cotton from the Southern States, Lancashire is my home county and many of my ancestors worked in the cotton Mills including my Grandfather, i am very proud of the Mill workers who took a stand against slave cotton even though it meant much hardship to those workers. The winners write the history books and it was as true in the 1860's as it was during the 20th century. New England industries profited from cotton grown by slave labor. When whales became scarce the New England whaling ships shifted to the more lucrative slave trade. Slavery was legal in the north for more than a hundred years and was outlawed barely 10 years before the Civil War. New Jersey was the last slave state in the north. Lincoln was so beset by personal problems and a mentally unbalanced wife that he lost track of the issue. He relied on bad information from stupid advisers and instead of trying to stop a Civil War before it started he assumed that the Rebellion wouldn't and couldn't last longer than a single summer. The industrial revolution was around the corner and slavery would have died out but thanks to Lincoln's bad advice and lack of initiative the U.S. lost almost half of it's population in a war that could have and should have been prevented.
Praise be to the Lancashire weavers!

Lancashire weavers ban slave cotton
The Lancashire weavers' decision to ban slave cotton in 1862 was a pivotal moment in the fight against slavery. This action was part of a broader movement to boycott cotton produced by the Southern states of America, which were engaged in the American Civil War. The boycott was a direct response to the economic and social implications of the war, which had disrupted the supply of raw cotton to Europe, including Lancashire. The decision to stop using cotton picked by slaves had significant consequences, leading to a slowdown in the cotton industry and a loss of employment for many workers. Despite the economic challenges, the Lancashire weavers' righteousness was upheld, and their actions were seen as a moral stance against the institution of slavery.
It was a hard life in those days long hours in a noisy and not so healthy environment, my Grandad was a cloth looker he made the final quality inspection quality control using a small magnifying glass, after the first world war it was the job he did all his life.Praise be to the Lancashire weavers!![]()
I wonder why people call it a civil war. It was not a civil war.
