I will be quite shocked if the democratic stance on law and order does not bite them in the ass come November. One would assume that women voters would definitely want public safety and security, they might not like Trump as a person but business is business. Meaning they want to feel safe once they walk out the door, and fewer cops is not going to cut it. And I think a lot of minority voters realize that Trump's economic policies lead to better prosperity for them before the COVID hit, and BTW over 80% of black voters do not want fewer cops on the streets either.

When she finished it, back in April, she wrote (rather presciently) that “a new energy of resistance is building across the country.” Now, as protests and riots continue to grip cities, she argues that looting is a powerful tool to bring about real, lasting change in society.
The rioters who smash windows and take items from stores, she says, are engaging in a powerful tactic that questions the justice of “law and order,” and the distribution of property and wealth in an unequal society.

Can you talk about rioting as a tactic? What are the reasons people deploy it as a strategy?
It does a number of important things. It gets people what they need for free immediately, which means that they are capable of living and reproducing their lives without having to rely on jobs or a wage—which, during COVID times, is widely unreliable or, particularly in these communities is often not available, or it comes at great risk. That’s looting’s most basic tactical power as a political mode of action.
It also attacks the very way in which food and things are distributed. It attacks the idea of property, and it attacks the idea that in order for someone to have a roof over their head or have a meal ticket, they have to work for a boss, in order to buy things that people just like them somewhere else in the world had to make under the same conditions."

Just today, while I was out walking our dog, a young black man in a jacked up 4x4 pick up truck gunned his engine as I was crossing our otherwise quiet residential street just off a major military base. I made it to the curb and put my palm on the butt of my everyday carry sidearm as he passed us. The look on this kid's face as he drove by was one of sheer and utter and boundless hatred. Time is short and I fear for the hour.

A MAN WAS FATALLY SHOT IN PORTLAND, ORE., on Saturday as the city’s nightly rioting entered its fourth month.
After ceding the streets to leftist gangs for some 90 consecutive nights, a group of Trump supporters drove in a caravan through downtown Portland on Saturday. Predictably, street fights broke out as day turned to night and at some point in the melee, an unidentified man affiliated with the right-wing group Patriot Prayer was shot and killed in a parking lot.

The violence, coming as it did on the heels of the fatal shootings in Kenosha, Wis., seems to have changed the calculus for the decisionmakers in the Biden campaign and America’s elite media institutions.
