Should Vance run in '28, he'll have the same issue as Harris had. He'll be linked to the Trump presidency. If Trump does a great job, Vance is a shoe in, if not, he has no chance. My bet will be on the later since voters threw out Trump in 2020 after seeing him for 4 years.
Absolutely right. Anybody who thought this was just about Trump is mistaken. The left will go after ANYBODY who is a threat to their power structure, and they have already particularly hard on JD because he is SO effective. Nobody the left offers will EVER out-debate JD. He is the quickest I have ever seen.
Vance is pretty much bullet proof. He has no weaknesses. He's brilliant, accomplished, has the life story, is a Marine veteran, and it the best debater in history, all while being a nice guy. The left will have to fabricate lies and a false narrative like they did with Trump being a dictator.
So, what are you going to do in 2028 when either Shapiro or Newsome are your candidate? They both pretty much exposed themselves to be Marxists, weasels, backstabbers and liars with piss poor judgement while campaigning for Harris. I'm not going to forget how they both fell in line behind Harris in supporting the Hamas massacre, anti Semitism, higher taxes, massive cuts and the transgenderization of our military, open borders, transgender mutilations of school kids, DEI, critical race theory, boys in girls' sports and bathrooms, human and fentanyl trafficking, censorship, packing the supreme court, making DC a state, doing away with the electoral college, amnesty for illegal aliens, drivers licenses and voting rights for illegal aliens, EV mandates, fracking bans, etc. etc. etc. I thought Shapiro had some sense before he followed his idiotic party into the darkness. Newsome? That asshole lived in that darkness for years. Republicans have at least three people that are vastly superior to Newsome and Shapiro. Then again, the racists in charge over there might decide on Michelle O or a Harris repeat. Maybe even P Diddy if they can spring him by then. People are hurting and scared and want change, they really don't care what change but, since the status quo isn't working for them, any change sounds good. It is why Obama/Hillary lost in 2016 and it is why Trump lost in 2020 and it is why Biden/Harris lost in 2024. It isn't the policies they vote for or against, it is whose promises of change they believe.
