"This means that the Justices hold office as long as they choose and can only be removed from office by impeachment. ... The only Justice to be impeached was Associate Justice Samuel Chase in 1805. The House of Representatives passed Articles of Impeachment against him; however, he was acquitted by the Senate."

Can a Supreme Court justice be impeached?

The Constitution provides that impeachment is only for “Bribery, treason or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” That generally means felonies. A felony is a crime for which the prison term is one year or more.

Impeachment is only an indictment, a formal charge. Only the Senate can remove a justice after they try him and find him guilty.
With a little legal investigation into the history of the right-wing hacks the impeached president trump foisted off on the American people as USSC Justices and federal judges, the corruption among them would total tens-of-millions-of-dollars they received collectively in illegal honoraria.

Their impeachments would be a yearlong process, perhaps much longer. After all, political conservatives, by nature, are corrupt. A quick look back over the past five decades proves this. (Except to the RWNJs, they live in their fantasy world of denial, where facts never penetrate.)

Impeachment is a fetish for Democrats.
It was a meaningless futile gesture. The Democrats spent thousands(maybe millions) of dollars of tax money on impeachment when they knew the GOP controlled Senate would never convict him. Those Dumbocrats don't give a damn about the safety of the nation or the needs or money of the American people.

Samuel Chase was impeached in 1804 by the House and not 1805 and acquitted by the Senate in 1805!

The only USSC to ever be impeached!

Even if Democrats were to impeach all of Trumps nominated and confirmed USSC Justices they ( Democrats ) lack the votes in the Senate for any convict and remove!

Give them time. Dems take all of DC and all things are possible. Already DEM talk of impeaching ACB.

...You will never have the 2/3rd vote needed...
You are probably right... but the LAST general election served-up a shocker... and turnout so far is genuinely and extraordinarily massive. I wonder...

...I swear many of you on the left are as unrealistic as those on the fringe right!
Nothing unrealistic in speculating about Rumpian Autocracy-Enablers fighting for their political lives (and justly so) in various Senate races.
Here is the reality and Biden will win November 3rd and the Senate will turn blue with a slight majority that will be around 51 to 54 which mean Dems will lack the votes to Convict and Remove...

If House Democrats decide to attempt the impeachment it will backfire and hurt them down the road...

Do you really think they care? Neither side care now. It is life or death with them.
