Almost "all" nations have a military that requires upkeep, for good reason. As for curing cancer. The problem is that doctors don't want cures for cancer and heart disease. If those conditions would be cured, they would lose a lot of business (money), so it's in their own interest to not solve the problem.

What pisses me off, is that Lyndon Baines Johnson, rounded up all the black people that he could, and stuck them in a 1 mile area called the projects, destroying the nuclear family of the blacks, by giving them just enough money, from Uncle Sugar, to keep the woman pregnant and the man on the lamb. So much wasted money that could of gone to much better purpose, but then the Democrat Party would not have a plantation of slaves that kept voting for them.
