I'm not so sure recess appointments are the end game.

Glorious, isn't it? Trump will declare himself dictator on day one and his loyal team will help him lead a coup against

oh, wait a minute, a coup against himself since he was democratically elected in a free and fair election where he even won the popular vote.
Snark doesn't come close to addressing what trump is trying to do. But I suppose it's all you have.

I find the whole post election thing most enjoyable. It gives me the most pleasure I have gotten in decades. If I were you I would run and hide because Trump is going to be having his gestapo reading through social media platforms for those who have criticized him. You will be on the list to be rounded up and charged with treason. You will either be jailed, subject to conversion therapy, or, well, let's not get into that but maybe you should get your affairs in order for your family.

However, for any vacant positions that exist during the 60-day period beginning on a transitional Presidential inauguration day, an acting officer may serve in the position for no longer than 300 days beginning on the inauguration day or the date of the vacancy, whichever is later.

I'm no legal expert and did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but it kinda sounds like trump came label the entire gang of idiots he's nominated "acting" and keep them on for about 10 months. Cuz I can't believe he thinks Gabbard, Gaetz, RFK, or Hegseth will survive a confirmation process when Senate Dems drill down on their lack of qualifications.
I would say that you're absolutely right because it's far too simple. Trump has had four years to strategize and I don't think you're going to see a single move out of him early on that hasn't been rehearsed, analyzed, and vetted for potential consequences. This whole thing is moving so quickly I have to believe it's scripted.

I can't define a woman except to say a woman is a person who defines herself as such.

Can “she” go to the doctor for a pap smear or would “she” be a better candidate for a prostate exam? You people are NUTS.

We're going to see if there are any congressional adults remaining in the GQP, that's for sure.

I think you mean we are going to see if there are any swamp creatures remaining. I have a feeling there are.

Who gives a shit?

its all about the EC pal ! and yes .. it was a landslide ..
So that's why you link rabbited on about the popular vote. Hillary had a landslide @ 2%.

That's what I thought.

She can do whatever the fuck she likes. Only MAGAts are fixated on others' genitals.

But like the blowhard yidnar, you can't define one.

Her argument while clumsy was that she was not going to prejudice a case she hasn't heard yet.

I've been on record this is the answer every single nominee should take over questions like this. I've said that Trump's nominee's should have gave a similar answer with the abortion questions.

Congress has their record. Certainly look into the backgrounds outside of their rulings but no one should have to state how they would rule on something they have not been presented yet.

Was she too embarrassed to admit she just couldn't do it unless self identity is the criteria?

Can you do it? Define a woman so there are no exceptions?

I explained. She can't comment on a case she hasn't heard yet. And that is the answer all judicial nominee's should give.

Exactly, so stop putting these people in the limelight and talking about in incessantly. Don’t condone men playing in women’s sports. It is fringe. It is nuts. It is void of common sense. It makes your side look just plain stupid to normal people. Soccer moms hate it. Don’t let the mentally ill be the mouthpiece of your party.

I shouldn’t be giving you people advice. I don’t want you to win anything because your policies are wack. Forget everything I said, continue doing EXACTLY what you are doing. People LOVE it. ;)

Ya know how they get " in the limelight"?

People like you cynically do that to outrage folks

The left can try to get in the way of the will of the people, but they won't be successful

You are the embodiment of what liberals have been warning about. The turn to fascism.

You're about to be reminded of just how unpopular trump's agenda is with the majority.

Trump may have another avenue to try to bypass the Senate, experts say, one that dramatically departs from historical norms. Rather than wait for Congress to adjourn, as presidents have done, he could try to instruct them to leave for the sole purpose of installing his nominees without their consent.

Edward Whelan, a prominent conservative scholar, wrote in an op-ed published in The Washington Post on Thursday that he has heard the Trump team is considering using an obscure constitutional provision that gives the president the power to adjourn Congress if the House and the Senate cannot agree on the timing of an adjournment. No president has ever used that authority.

Whelan wrote that late Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia, a strict constitutionalist, “would be aghast at the notion that a president could create an intrasession recess for the purpose of bypassing the Senate approval process for nominations.”

If Thune and Johnson refuse his recess demand I don't think he'll stop at anything to sideline Congress in order to ram his appointments through. It's the kind of thing autocrats do.

I hope I'm right when I say this..........trump is running the risk of pushing things too far in the eyes of some congressional Repubs who have thus far enabled his madness. It seems to me the Gaetz nomination has a few senators looking around asking, "we aren't really going along with this, right?" IOW, they are looking for strength in numbers. Making a political calculation about risking their future in the POT.
