L.A. & NYC...**** that I live in the Rustbelt now!

Illinois House Bill 4414 would require EVERY round of handgun ammunition sold or possessed in Illinois to carry a serial number — starting January 1, 2027. The bill also creates a state-run ammo registry and allows the Illinois State Police to charge up to 5 cents per round in end-user fees.In this video, I break down exactly what HB4414 says, why the technology to comply doesn't exist, and why this is effectively a backdoor ammunition ban.

Sweet Jesus! I'm glad I live in the Rustbelt. I can't imagine living in a commie shithole anymore. When I come home, there is a case or three of 7.62, 5.56, 9mm or 12Ga 00 on my doorstep. Fresh from Target Sports or wherever. No bullshit, no porch pirates, just cases of ammo! (Although if I lived in a bad area, my ammo would be porch pirated.)

Makes sense
It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
It's a totally unworkable solution to a problem that doesn't exist and they know it.
It would make ammunition incredibly expensive, which is exactly what they want. If they can't stomp on the Second Amendment hard enough to totally destroy it, by God, they'll try to make ammo too expensive to buy and use.
Typical of the Far Left's dishonesty and ignorance.

Courts have already ruled elsewhere that this is akin to gun control and violates the 2nd Amendment.

In July 2025, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that California’s mandatory background checks for ammunition purchases violate the Second Amendment. The court found these regulations, which caused high rejection rates for legal owners, unconstitutional under the Supreme Court's Bruen standard. Additionally, courts have recently ruled against state-level bans on high-capacity magazines.

Makes us safer
Only criminals would object

What’s the big deal?

Nobody’s preventing you from doing your gun thing.

100% bullshit.
Any sane citizen would object and should.
This bill belongs in the toilet along with almost everything else the Democrats propose to destroy America.
Law abiding citizens have nothing to worry about

You can still kill someone, just they will know you did it

Bullets from handguns usually grossly deform, fragment, and disintegrate on impact. How would a serial number still be intact and legible?

That's above the gun laws in the UK!! The Land of the Free!!!!!!! :laughing0301:

and if criminals steal ammo from a store, or a private home, how do you track it?
You don’t.
But if they can’t steal it they have to buy it

If you are not a criminal, you don’t care if your ammo is marked

I do.
1. Cases get recycled. A lot. That makes me criminally suspect.

2. It increases the prices extravagantly. Few ammo suppliers will do this. Its confiscatory and an end run around the 2nd Amendment.

3. I need to see where its even technically feasible.
