Illinois wants to track every round you via forced serialization and registration of ammo.

I do.
1. Cases get recycled. A lot. That makes me criminally suspect.

2. It increases the prices extravagantly. Few ammo suppliers will do this. Its confiscatory and an end run around the 2nd Amendment.

3. I need to see where its even technically feasible.
Why are you protecting criminals?

I have to laugh at USMB righties

You constantly mock Chicago for its high number of murders. Yet when Illinois passes legislation that will cut down murders, you whine like little bitches.

Why don’t you just admit you don’t care when people are shot?

You had me at 'I don't care about people.' 😇 in the words of the Bard, tell your dog I said hi.

Only criminals would object
You're stupid again.
What’s the big deal?

Nobody’s preventing you from doing your gun thing.
That's a lie. Offhand, it would effectively ban reloading.
Bullets from handguns usually grossly deform, fragment, and disintegrate on impact. How would a serial number still be intact and legible?
Rifle rounds often disintegrate.
Sophistry. Come on young man- I expected better. 🍕

This is an attack on my 2nd A rights in a major way.
Why would you expect better from the human spambot?

Criminals cannot be charged for failing to register weapons or ammunition. This was settled in the Johnson administration.

Criminals who do not make their own bullets will have to buy them
Those bullets will be traceable

Why do you support criminals?

Stop playing stupid. There are BILLIONS of existing rounds, untraceable. The chance of any of the rounds actually having legible marking after firing is very low. Shotgun rounds are exempt.

And, yet again, criminals cannot be charged for failing to register weapons or ammunition. They can simply buy them out of state.

what most people say when theyre pro gun.webp

Rifle rounds usually disintegrate more, but handgun bullets also disintegrate and deform and can lose up to 40% of their mass. In most cases a serial # would be great obliterared with that 40%. I like how you shifted the topic from pistol rounds to rifle rounds in a heartbeat. That was cute. Is there any other deflection you'd like to try which will again reveal your ignorance on the topic?

Yea, it will take a while to take hold
But it will be worth it

Photo ID required at all voting stations, no mail in ballots allowed.

Are you having a stroke?

And no, I don't mean that rifle rounds "deform" or "lose mass." I mean they DISINTEGRATE. They turn to fragments. A round from my target rifle leaves NOTHING recognizable. You'd be lucky to even figure out the caliber. A few handgun rounds do the same, especially hollow-points.

It will NEVER "take hold." On the off chance that courts don't broom it, it will cost millions and accomplish less than nothing.

Wow. WHO'S having a stroke?? 😏 I was talking about pistol rounds and then you made a blanket statement about rifle rounds. In most cases neither rifle nor pistol rounds would retain a legible serial number. That was essentially my original statement. Rifle rounds and pistol rounds also do NOT always disintegrate. That is completely proportional to energy and what medium they hit. I have found come across rifle caliber bullets while metal detecting that were mostly intact, and in those rare cases a serial number actually MIGHT have remained legible. Overall it's a very impractical idea. Case closed.

Doesn’t affect your right to bear arms or own bullets
Yes. It represents the 2nd Amendment version of a poll tax, and is designed to limit my ability to shoot firearms (if I lived there). No major ammunition manufacturer will sell there.
Additionally, as noted, I don't believe its technically feasible at this point, which is probably the point.

Illinois House Bill 4414 would require EVERY round of handgun ammunition sold or possessed in Illinois to carry a serial number — starting January 1, 2027. The bill also creates a state-run ammo registry and allows the Illinois State Police to charge up to 5 cents per round in end-user fees.In this video, I break down exactly what HB4414 says, why the technology to comply doesn't exist, and why this is effectively a backdoor ammunition ban.

Sweet Jesus! I'm glad I live in the Rustbelt. I can't imagine living in a commie shithole anymore. When I come home, there is a case or three of 7.62, 5.56, 9mm or 12Ga 00 on my doorstep. Fresh from Target Sports or wherever. No bullshit, no porch pirates, just cases of ammo! (Although if I lived in a bad area, my ammo would be porch pirated.)
