Number 16 to now shut its doors. Another collapse in the long string of failures known as ObamaCare

Sixteen Obamacare co-ops have now failed. Illinois announced that Land of Lincoln Health, a taxpayer funded Obamacare co-op, would close its doors, leaving 49,000 without insurance. The co-op now joins a list of 15 other Obamacare co-ops that have collapsed since Obamacare has been implemented. Failed co-ops have now cost taxpayers more than $1.7 billion in funds that may never be recovered.

Another ignorant thread ignoring the fact that the co-ops were merely a stopgap and were never meant to be permanent.

Then brilliant success. 16 failures, and more successes to come.

Only in left-wing world do you see train wrecks, and claim "That exactly what we intended to happen! It's all part of our brilliant plan!".

I'm sure Venezuela today is a brilliant success, and exactly what they intended when they started their socialist revolution over a decade ago. "Utter ruins was the goal! We're achieving everything we wanted!"

Exactly what they have hoped for

The ACA was setup to fail and if anyone believe otherwise, well what can I write except they're ignorant fools.

The goal from the start was Universal Healthcare and I never understood why they did not just slice their throats from the start and pass the Universal Healthcare Act...

It will happen one day in the short future and Americans will applaud it until they realize we just became Canada...

I'll fight tooth and nail to keep that from happening, though, and hopefully enough other Americans will, after experiencing this fiasco.

I am not sure I can even discern the business model these were supposed to follow:

From your article:

The number of insurers carrying out one of the Affordable Care Act’s most idealistic goals continues to plummet, with just seven nonprofit member-run health plans set to take part in the law’s fourth enrollment season this fall.

That’s down from 23 such plans — co-ops, as they are commonly known — that started in 2014. Eleven are still in business, but four in Oregon, Ohio, Connecticut and Illinois will fold soon because of financial insolvency. Just Tuesday, the Land of Lincoln Mutual Health Insurance Co. was ordered to close by Illinois regulators.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Keep in mind, these are Co-ops.

Does the word "temporary" mean anything to you? What about "stopgap"?

Yes, in fact Temporary does. It's the word that describes the 'success' of all socialist left-wing programs. Very 'Temporary'.

Not all "socialist" programs are bad. It's what people chose. They are different.

As is constantly being pointed out, many people live in Europe under democratic socialist regimes and they are quite happy.

I simply say that those who want that should move there. Or try anyway. It's tough to immigrate unless, of course, you come from the middle east.....and that isn't working out so well.

No, pretty much all socialist programs are in fact, bad.

Being what the people choose, doesn't mean they are not bad. The people in Venezuela voted for Socialism there. Venezuela is on the brink of complete anarchy. It was "bad" even if they voted for it.

What people are constantly pointing out, is BS. The people who claim that, often have absolutely no idea whatsoever, what they are talking about.

Moreover, the claims they are so happy, don't strike me as even a valid claim. Spain almost went bankrupt. Greece is in a nightmare. The UK just voted to leave. France is in an economic crisis.

And let's not even talk about all the problems in their socialized system, like Health care. Massive doctor strike just last year in France. UK had a massive doctor strike not long ago. Remember the fuel strike just before the world cup, which nearly paralyzed the entire country?

Such happy citizens huh? Sure hide it well.

Someone should create a poll to find out how many Americans don't understand the meaning of "temporary."

We already covered that. It's the primary description of every socialist system.

The poll should also encompass the number of Americans who don't understand the meaning of "socialism."

Yeah, I agree completely. :D I doubt many on this forum, including the one I'm responding to, knows what it means.

It does not mean what you think it means.
