Hey, I was born and raised in Illinois.
Since 2015, lots of sites have said that Illinois is losing population every year. More people moving out of state in IL per year than any other state. (Except in 2020, it came in 2nd place.)
Here are some sources for example.
But now, sites on Google are saying those statistics are all WRONG. That was all false information, f'd up miscalculations. Illinois has actually gained population since 2015 according to the 2020 census.
I know the census is only done once every 10 years, but how could soooo many sites be so WRONG? So many sites were saying Illinois was losing more people than any other state from 2015 - 2021 (except in 2020 when it came in 2nd place for population loss.)
Anyone know what's up with that? How the estimates could be so off.
