Apparently this was a strain that was difficult to address and could end in death. Hundreds were exposed. Is.China is weaponizing your open border with bio threats? MSN. Louisiana is suing Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and various agencies after an illegal Chinese immigrant may have exposed hundreds of people in the state to a rare, drug-resistant form of tuberculosis.

i would certainly support an ellis island type of medical screening and quarantine for all immigrants, "legal" and and amnesty seekers.

I have to ask what a Chinese did to you that makes you so freaky weird about China.

You are downplaying this case?

Wow

Um, may have exposed people (are there any ACTUAL cases yet?) seems a tad alarmist.

Look, guy, I don't know what your issue with the Chinese are, and frankly, I don't care.

But it seems you are getting more and more desperate in your fear mongering.

It's critical enough that arms of the government are being sued by other arms of the government.

Naw, that just shows someone has too much time on their hands.
The government who sued has too much time on their hands? Do you not realize the obvious security threat at your southern border? You are welcoming a bio-attack among other dangers.

Yes, because China would want to do a bio-attack on their biggest customer. That makes perfect sense.

You underestimate them don't you? There are over 200 U.S citizens being held against their will in China last I heard. Do you think they care anymore after decades of bending the knee and not holding even U.S allies to a standard of freedom?
'Praying for a Miracle': The Americans Detained in China

The postponement of a meeting between senior U.S. officials and counterparts in Beijing over a surveillance balloon detected over the continental United States may further dash the hopes of American citizens held for years in China.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken was set to travel to Beijing this weekend for sit-down talks with Chinese officials as a follow-up to presidents Joe Biden and Xi Jinping's meeting late last year. He would have been the first top U.S. diplomat to visit the country in five years.

More than 200 U.S. citizens at various stages of prosecution remain wrongfully detained in China but the exact number is unclear, according to John Kamm, who chairs the Dui Hua Foundation, a San Francisco-based nonprofit seeking clemency and better treatment for at-risk detainees, American or otherwise.

"I consider Americans subject to coercive measures as political prisoners due to the state of U.S.-China relations. In short, they are political prisoners because their imprisonment and treatment are related to the poor state of political relations between the two countries," Kamm told Newsweek.

The families argue the insubstantial charges against their loved ones have never stood up to scrutiny. Convictions for political crimes are rare.

You go to a foreign country, you are subject to their legal system.

Of course, most of these "Americans" are of Chinese ancestry.

Right. The reason I started to change my tune on China was when they publicly kidnapped two Canadians and held them in prison for two years with fake charges of espionage.

They are going to win eventually and it's because of the fools in the West.

Naw, they are going to "win" (whatever that means) because they are world's most populous country with the largest economy.

Not sure what "Winning" means, exactly, but you do you.

If you are talking about Spaver and Kovrig, um, China released them after 3 years because Trudeau asked nicely.

Korvig really was a spy. Or at least he was considered an "intelligence asset"

They were also taken after Canada arrested Meng Wanzhou on behalf of the US Government.

Oh, the charges against Meng were eventually dropped because they were bullshit.

Here it comes...
