No, I don't think the GOP need any help from Trump. Trump is very popular and has been very popular and will be popular again soon as this war ends and gas prices come down again. Just the other day, some high-ranking republican in NC lost to his opponent by 23 votes! And he conceded the race. Can you see any democrat conceding an election by 23 votes? There would be endless appeals and recounts and lawsuits until the Dems found 25 more votes. But not the GOP.

The GOP is the only party I have ever seen in the world anywhere to have an opponent as bad, as flawed, as corrupt and inept at running the country as the Dems are yet somehow always manage to still somehow shoot themselves in their own feet so badly that they end up losing to them.
