I hope most of the country is not like the county I live in.
Reporting the abuse, neglect or killing of animals (except cows) in Apache County will do nothing.
Yep, there is a state law. It is not enforced here.
In the thread below, there is a link to a YouTube video showing what happens if animal abuse is reported here. Spoiler: it's a video of a sheriff's deputy executing dogs that were neglected/abused.
An update to the information in that thread:
The guy was allowed to plea bargain after 24 live but abused dogs and 1the half eaten remains of an unknown number of others were found at his home. Dogs were tied to trees, most chains so short the dogs could not lay down.
He got 60 hours of work release for that.
However, it was found that he had shot a cow, not killing it, but wounding it.
He got 30 days, six months probation and a felony conviction for that.
He is back at his place, supposedly has no guns, but has lots more dogs.
In a just world he would suffer an injury or stroke and lay out here in the desert for several days before he died.
