If Trump wins, The Biden-Harris "strong economy" will suddenly become the Trump Recession

U.S. Leading Economic Index Falls More Than Expected In September
(RTTNews) - The Conference Board released a report on Monday showing its reading on leading U.S. economic indicators fell by more than expected in the month of September.

The report said the leading economic index slid by 0.5 percent in September after falling by a revised 0.3 percent in August.
Economists had expected the leading economic index to decrease by 0.3 percent compared to the 0.2 percent dip originally reported for the previous month. Over the six-month period between March and September, the index tumbled by 2.6 percent compared to the 2.2 percent slump over the previous six-month period, the Conference Board said.

"Weakness in factory new orders continued to be a major drag on the US LEI in September as the global manufacturing slump persists," said Justyna Zabinska-La Monica, Senior Manager, Business Cycle Indicators, at The Conference Board. "Additionally, the yield curve remained inverted, building permits declined, and consumers' outlook for future business conditions was tepid."

If the next potus can't fix it within 3 weeks, fail

No taxes? They pay the majority of the taxes. They don't pay "no" taxes. That is a leftist lie. Why do you lie?

The top 20% pay 70% of the federal taxes and the top 1% pay 24% of the federal taxes.

You are posting a red herring, cherry picked bullshit without context.

1. THERE ARE in fact people who have hugely apreciating investments that pay little to no taxes, thats who Lesh was talking about and thats what you didn't address in any way.

2. Even aside from unrealized capital gains issues, top 20% IS NOT "people who have tens of millions", top 0.5% is ball park on that category.

3. Federal taxes are far from the only taxes people pay, to pretend state and local taxes (which are far more progressive) don't exist is an argument of bad faith.

Here is what state and local tax burden looks like:
Average-Effective-State-and-Local-Tax-Rates-in-the-US-WhoPays-7th.png

Here is what overall tax burden vs income share looks like:
Who-Pays-Taxes-in-America-2024-figure-1.png

And here is what actual weath distribution looks like:

Distribution-of-Household-Wealth_Site.jpeg

So what is the overall bottom line? The rich do pay a bit more compared to their income, but a lot less compared to their disposable income (total income minus poverty level income) and wealth.

BUT among that top 1% there are people that pay alot more (salaried/contracted) and those that pay alot less (those that make their money in investments), so yes government should be thinking about these inequities in the tax structure and try to find more effective, fair ways of taxing investment income.

Anyone dying of Covid will be Trump’s fault.

Anyone dying in Gaza will be Trump’s fault.

The media will discover the existence of pro-Palestinian protesters.

You know who says that? No one.

But just yesterday Trump was telling his dupes at a big rally that Biden caused global inflation, Putin's invasion of Ukraine and Oct 7th attack on Israel.

Let's see you admit he is full of stupid shit.

Biden does deserve some of the blame for the Ukraine War.

That war was avoidable.

Thats ludecrous, Biden gave Putin every incentive and redline not to invade Ukraine, and instead to limit his encursion to territories Russia already de-facto controlled. Putin ignored Biden's warnings, went for full scale invasion and got Russia slammed with all the unprecedented consequences Biden him about - starting with immediate cancelation of Nordstream II that Russia invested billions into, sanctions as far as the eye can see and international millitary material and intelligence support for Ukraine.

The ONLY consequence Biden admin did not pursue was troops on the ground, direct war with Russia, which Trump has never had on the table either. So to say that Putin would be more concerned about consequences of invading Ukraine under Trump is baseless nonsense.

But even that aside, lets note how you simply pretended that two other items of global inflation and attack on Israel were not in the post you've quoted.

Too inconvinient to comment on that bullshit, right?

If Trump replaces the income tax with tariffs the inflation of the Biden administration will seem like the good old days.

If Biden had made it clear Ukraine would not join NATO there would have been no war.

Regarding inflation:

If Trump replaces the income tax with tariffs the inflation of the Biden administration will seem like the good old days.
Tariffs can be used to 1) negotiate fair trading practices 2) compel foreign companies to build factories in the U.S.

If Biden had made it clear Ukraine would not join NATO there would have been no war.

Biden made PERFECTLY clear that Ukraine would not join NATO anytime soon. Anyone that understands how NATO membership works knows that well without any Biden comments.

NATO membership requires economic standards that Ukraine could not meet for at least another decade.
NATO membership requires millitary standards that Ukraine also could not meet for a very long time esp. considering it's budgets.

And critically NATO membership requires settlement of any territorial disputes, a criteria Ukraine could NEVER clear so long as it maintained that Russian occupied Crimea and eastern Ukraine was Ukranian territory.

Finland, which shares almost a 1000 mile border with Russia, 100 miles from Russia second largest city, immediately declared it's intent to join NATO as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It in fact did join NATO a year and half later. Russia couldn't give two shits.

Finally Putin has NEVER proposed any agreement that traded Ukranian NATO aspirations for peace. His administration's insane 2021 NATO ultimatum was for NATO to drop EXISTING members, which was always a non-starter.

So anyone using NATO as justification for this war of choice by Russia does not know up from down.

Quote: Chollet’s remarks confirm suspicions by many critics who believe the Biden administration wasn’t doing enough — including offering to deny or delay Ukraine’s NATO membership — to prevent Russia from launching a war against Ukraine.

That doesn't refute even a word of what you've quoted.

Ukraine could never join NATO so long as it had a territorial despute with Russia. There was zero immediate threat to Russia, zero reason to invade in 2021 as a justifiable war of last resort.

Thats even IF we somehow belive that NATO has any agressive intent vs Russia or that Putin would be willing invade countries for trying to join NATO (which is proven total bs by Finland joining NATO).

Putin was clear in what he said when invading Ukraine: it's not a real country and belongs to Russia. THAT is the real reason. Putin never got over his soviet nastalgia and could not stomach Ukraine being it's own country, developing it's democratic society, joining the European Union...and ultimately showing Russians that there is a better way to live than under Czar's boot.

Provide evidence that Ukraine could never join NATO.

Ukraine can be considered more essential than Finland.

Provide evidence that Ukraine could never join NATO.

To join NATO, countries must first be offered a membership action plan, which includes a formal invitation and a tailored road map for future membership. To obtain such a plan, prospective members must first peacefully resolve outstanding international, ethnic and territorial disputes.

New members, at the time that they join
, must commit themselves, as all current Allies do on the basis of the Washington Treaty, to:
  • unite their efforts for collective defence and for the preservation of peace and security; settle any international disputes in which they may be involved by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security and justice are not endangered, and refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations;

There would have to be a very special carveout for Ukraine, nescessitated by Russia's invasion itself, for this principle to be over-ridden.

Ukraine can be considered more essential than Finland.

You may want to check the map as you are down to grasping at straws.

Ukraine at least 10 years away from NATO membership - MUST INVADE!
Finland, joining within a year - meh, it's ok.

The only way any of this is coherent is if NATO is an excuse, not real reason.

List the names of these people who are living on and not paying any taxes on unrealized cap gains…

So now you acknowledge that Ukraine could have joined NATO after some paper shuffling by the bureaucrats.

Finland was a later addition.
