China Is Secretly Worried Trump Will Win on Trade

Oh yeah, they are really worried. The action in their stock market shows that to be.............................pure bullshit!

Trump has increased the tariffs on China by 20% over the past few weeks. This was supposed to be a negative to China and a positive to us, no?

Well, reality has been just the opposite. When Trump took office on January 22nd, the Chinese stock market (HSI index) was trading at 19,688 and today it is trading at 24,300, which is an increase of over 23%. During this same period of time, the DOW has dropped 6% in value (from 45,047 to 42,347). That is 29% change in value in favor of the Chinese and against Trump.

They are shaking in their boots!
You love China. I get it. China is a rising nation, and we enabled them. You do not understand that. Rising nations are susceptible to outside issues as they export a lot of products. The United States is a declining nation as compared to rising ones. Our socialist agendas masks that decline. England's primitive social agendas when the world had none masked their decline in the late 19th century. The United States became the economic leader at that time. We were reluctant to become the world's military and policemen leader though. Once we got the fiat currency forced on us from the then globalists, it cleared the way. The Sgt. York movie about WW1 told us how many citizens felt. We had to become conditioned and the Great Depression after WW 1 had us converted for WW 2.

But if it is a secret , how do you know ?

Are you control opposition for the CCP ?
Are you secretly doing a Joe Piss Pot Biden ?

Time to end any trade deals that treat the US badly. The world will soon learn that America is not going to settle for bad trade deals any longer.
Also, Red China is building up its navy and air forces for a confrontation with the US. There is no reason to help the Red Chinese economy.

And where did they get this "secret" information from?

Oh, they made it up? What a surprise.
Michael Pillsbury, a China expert at the conservative Heritage Foundation who consults with the administration, said he has met with members of Chinese delegations that have visited Washington since the election. The Chinese effort amounts to a campaign to ward off tariffs, he said.
“They are kind of desperate,” Pillsbury said. “Their economy is in trouble. Now that Trump put the tariffs on, they know this campaign has failed.”

And Michael Pillsbury gets told Chinese government secrets does he?

Yes, the Chinese govt routinely goes around telling former US Department of Defense employees all their secrets.

Are you really that naive?

Who said anything about Chinese gov't secrets?

OK . But you did not reply to the very pertinent question .

You also overlooked the fact that China tackled this matter at least two years ago when theyv decided that they primarily wanted an economy based on internal consumer consumption and therefore wished to decrease their reliance on consumer product exports .
A huge basic change .
The medium and long term implications of this should be obvious and need building into forecasting US future needs and optimum strategy routes .
Just highlighting a possibly very important area .

We can change this and we will.

The U.S. goods trade deficit with China was $295.4 billion in 2024, a 5.8 percent increase ($16.3 billion) over 2023.

What is the difference between a state secret and being quiet about something?

If China is "secretly worried" about something, it means they don't want anyone else to know they're worried. Right?

And the way China works, such things are "state secrets" because what Xi thinks is what China thinks. And anyone going around talking about what Xi's saying that isn't meant for US ears, might find themselves being executed if they get caught.

How do you type in there? That's serious twisted posting.

With a domestic economy in crisis, Xi is playing defense, hoping to salvage as much as possible of a global trade system that helped pull his country out of poverty.
such phenomenal ingratitude is duly noted ~S~

China has a $1T trade surplus, the greatest surplus in world history.

Of course America would win in a tariff battle, they clearly don't buy American goods in comparison, it's as lopsided as one could imagine,
I want to move jobs back to America

But a more reasonable short term goal is simply to move jobs out of china, which weakens their economy

Moving factories to India and SE Asia is a plus for America

The trade surplus is all thats keeping the chinese economy afloat

And along with it, keeping Xi’s grip on power intact

Without trade china could implode
