Except that much of the nation saw the convictions as political persecution, which it clearly was. They also saw the falsehoods of the Russia collusion hoax. Trump also outperformed the national polling in 2020 by 2.7 and outperformed both national (by 1.1) and swing state polling in 2016 with a come from behind victory over Clinton.

Historically in Presidential Election polling, Democrats underperform polling.

Why? Lots of Republicans are voting early right now. They can't vote again on Nov 5.

For some reason, Republican early voter turnout is low right now in PA. Maybe they never show up in large numbers. Maybe Harris wins PA by 10%.

Fetterman beat Oz by 5% in 2022...and the polls showed Oz winning by 1%.

Republicans in PA are returning early ballots at the same ratio as they requested them. There is nothing to read into that. PA is one of those States where election-day voting for republicans is heavily favored.

If you think the 2022 election is an accurate predictor, you are setting yourself up for a disappointment. Mid-term elections are totally different animals than Presidential elections. Low turnout and very few uncommitted or marginally committed voters.

It's the top of the ticket that commands the turnout in Presidential elections. Trump may stall in the next couple weeks or he may not. Harris's polling has been declining in the past 3-4 weeks while Trump's has been slowly but steadily improving. He is polling better than he did in 2016 and 2020, and Harris is polling worse than Biden or Hillary were at the same point in time.

Overall, among States that report early voting by political party, democrats are running 10 points behind where they were in 2020 (53 then vs 43 now), and republicans are running 10 points ahead (25 vs 35).

In Nevada, Republicans are killing it. 52% of the early ballots are from republicans and only 27% are from democrats...
