Illegal immigrants who are working full-time jobs and providing a valuable service to the economy should be subject to the following:

An immigration fee to cover the cost of their illegal entry and economic cost of displacing one American worker.

It can be done through the payroll system very easily.
It should be made clear to them that the contributions being removed from their paychecks Will entitle them to nothing until they become verified American citizens the right way. This is similar to an agency fee charged by unions who have workers on site that do not wish to work with the union but wish to work at that site anyway.

Canada does it with their Chinese immigrant invester visa. Those immigrants must invest $400K CAD into the government economy that will be returned after five years with NO INTEREST.
The Immigrant Investor Visa Program: If you intend to make investments in the Canadian economy and have a net worth of at least 800,000 CAD, you will be issued an immigrant investor visa. You must invest at least 400,000 CAD and the Canadian government will return this investment to you in 5 years without any interest.

Yes we have an investor class. Unfortunately it is also exploited and an easy way to place a nefarious within your borders.

Nope. Send them back, and bring in the ones who follow the legal process.

Yeah.... Makes perfect sense.

Justoffal, you may have a workable option regarding the illegal invaders, but NO MAYBE about it------DEPORT them all---case closed.

It would take more than 4 years...
If it starts to cost them something you won't have to take them out... They'll leave on their own

I agree with that proposition on a foundational basis, but the logistical aspects of this approach would be enormous. I think that a prioritization system will have to be established, starting with people who have committed crimes. The next group should be people who fail to appear for their immigration hearings. After that, a cost/benefit approach will probably be used to determine who is deported. Those who are allowed to stay should be required to report and pay taxes on all of their earnings. In the case of Social Security taxes, this should include making 10 years worth of payments before any benefits start accruing.

The last parts just add an aura of legality to them being here.

It's gonna be a tough band-aid to rip off doing it hardcore, but it has to be done.

Yep ...one quibble....no citizenship..no benefits at all.

An alternative "and/or" would be to have a tax on money transfers going out of the USA to their country of origin. I've seen many a possible "illegal" buying money orders and cashier's checks at local retailers.

What about Birthright Citizenship (of children)? Current law makes this a sticky issue.
The 14th Amendment was meant to grant citizenship to former slaves, post ACW. Foreign immigration, especially illegal, wasn't an issue then nor the intent of that Amendment. The supreme court has misinterpreted such and in effect made legislation, not clarify it.

Without legal documentation to be in this country, one is still subject to ultimate 'jurisdiction'(citizenship status) of their country of origin. Same should apply to any offspring born in this country.

That might even be better....

Is there something wrong with Americans having that good job?
