Not sure it's all about food, so I looked it up. Russia's wheat production in 2023 was a record 92 million metric tons, excluding output from Crimea. While Ukraine's only averaged 20-30 million metric tons per year.

They can export Ukraine's entire output. And, the war has greatly reduced Ukraine's output as well. They also produced half the world's sunflower oil, some 10% of the world's grains, and exported over 33 million tons of grains a year before the war. They were the 6th largest exporter of wheat and the third largest exporter of corn even in 2023.

For ages, they have relied on the USA, NATO, the UN and other international treaties (all empowered by the USA) to give them a false sense of support and cover so they could spend all of their money and effort on giving themselves a cushy standard of living.
