Sanctuary cities protect criminal illegals, first by not honoring ICE detainers, whereby they let the criminals out of jail instead of turning them over to ICE as requested, the secondly, when ICE has to find and capture them it exposes both ICE and the public to danger, such as riots or dangerous driving and auto accidents. Thirdly, sanctuary cities allow illegals to commit fraud, some times massive fraud.
These actions cause severe economic harm to the US.
