We live in a country of laws. Those laws apply to everyone, including law enforcement. And we live in a country where people have rights, and those rights apply to non-citizens. In no small way, citizens have a duty to oppose federal forces violating civil rights.
I mean is anyone thinking here. This very nation was founded on the concept of citizen protest. And yes, sometimes, it got rather violent. I mean does anyone know anything about the Regulator Movement in North Carolina in the mid 1760's? The provincial government was deemed corrupt and the people took up arms against them. They got HUNG. The government used the riot act, called in the militia, and put down the rebellion. Remember, history is written by winners, not losers.
History might not repeat itself, but it often rhymes. What is going on now does sound a lot like what was going on prior to the American Revolution and the time after the Revolution and prior to the Constitutional Convention. In no small way, the American Revolution was a shakedown, conducted by the political elite, that culminated in the passage of the Constitution.
We, the people, are getting hosed. I mean it has been a long time coming, but at this point, the elite don't even pretend anymore. They rub our noses in it. I mean it is terrible out there. There is no loyalty to the company because the company is not loyal to the people. And it is really telling. This whole "side hustle" economy, that is not a good thing. It is a sign of an economy that is becoming dysfunctional.
But to the topic at hand. It is past time to rein in Noem and her minions. We have yet to feel the economic impact of this administrations actions towards immigrants, legal and illegal. Sure, construction is feeling some pressure, but damn, it is winter time. We are weeks away from getting seeds in the greenhouse, dropping in spring soybeans, or do we do corn. Clear the winter wheat cover, prep the strawberry fields. Is the labor going to be there? Not looking good.
