Wrong.
First of all, the coal power plants switching to natural gas is temporary.
It is just from a natural gas price reduction from fracking.
But there is no more than 30 years of natural gas left.
So electricity actually is coal, since we have over 500 years worth of coal.
Second is that battery EVs make no sense because the batteries are heavy and make the vehicle weigh more than twice as much as it should.
The better solutions are hydrogen ICE, hydrogen fuel cells, or bio fuel ICE.
They weigh much less, and do not pollute at all like EVs do.
Wrong
Your missing the point. Coal cause air pollution. That is why they are trying to get away from it. They are not concern with how much coal exists, it how it used which contaminates the air we breath that is the problem.
So like I said if an alternative is available, coal being used will die a slow death.
EV car are heavier. To allow these vehicle to travel further on a charge, then they had to improve the batteries or add more batteries. The plus side is the heavier the vehicle is, the better it will protect occupants if they get into a crash.
So if an EV Car which will on average weights 1000 lbs more hit a regular gas power vehicle or vise versa . The gas power vehicle will win that battle and thus offers more protection in accidents to its occupants. Heavier vehicles has it positives but deniers will just point to the negatives.
Electric vehicles (EVs) have no tailpipe emissions. Yes, the electricity used to charge EVs, however, may create carbon pollution. The amount varies widely based on how local power is generated, e.g., using coal or natural gas, which emit carbon pollution, versus renewable resources like wind or solar, which does not. Still the fact remains that the electricity has been produced and thus will be used. Electricity is also made from renewable sources that do not create carbon pollution. So its is only a half truth.
Yes depending on how the electricity is created will determine the amount of carbon pollution. But it is already being produced to create electricity. EV cars that use the electricity can be said to cause some pollution. Yet electricity from renewable sources does not cause pollution.
