Treatment is legal to preserve the life of the mother but not her "health", or her ability to a baby in future. Women are dying because they cannot get treatment for ectopic pregnancies, or the complications of miscarriage and childbirth, many of which require a surgical D&C - an abortion.

Even as the bodies piled up, Republican men continued to pass these misogynistic laws based on false notions of when life begins. Maternity wards in red state hospitals closed and OB/GYN left abortion ban states, and PCP's refused to accept pregnant women as patients, leaving ALL pregnant women in these states with fewer options for care.
