I think I went on a Practice Date with the wrong woman

let me ask you this. I was walking down the street and a woman was coming toward me and once we past each other we made eye contact. Was I supposed to smile and say hello once we made eye contact?
/-----/ It depends on where you live. When I lived in South Carolina and traveld through the South, that was a common occurrence. Women in big cities like NYC and Chicago tend to have the 50-yard stare. They ignore strangers as a self-defense mechanism.
However, in a familiar setting like work or church events, that is a great way to break the ice.

Depends. If people are jammed into a subway car that's one thing. Crazy people love bug-eyed staring. But just strolling down the street people will smile and greet passer-by unless something has got them down.
