I've never seen him before, I don't know his name, he is the lawyer sitting in the office next to mine.

This morning I saw him laying his head down on his arms.

Later, I heard him cry.

I'll do him the charity of pretending I didn't see and hear, and I'll never tell anyone in the office.

This Sunday I'll light a candle in church for him and pray to God to ease whatever suffering he is going through.

I ask you to do the same.

The poor soul cannot afford a hamburger. Bless his hungry tummy.:(

This man, as I've told you in another thread, ended up killing his mother and then himself.

surly your account was before the event ...

truly, one or the other would be to blame or to take another's life would be hard to reconcile than to have just walked away.

So, maybe if you had gone to him, put your arm around him and helped him, his mother and himself would still be alive. You could have done something and still prayed for him. Maybe prayed with him when he was crying.

Or, he could have taken out a gun and shot me. 50/50 chance either way, I figure.

Nonsense. Unless you’re the reason for his situation. I had a good friend 52 years ago who tried to take her life. Had I hesitated and not called her, woke my mom up to talk to her while I drove 20 miles to pull her out of her house and take her to the hospital, she would have died of alcohol drug overdose. There’s nothing to fear but fear itself. Fear, false evidence appearing real.

Cougarbear, it's pretty fucked up you're trying to make me feel guilty over a suicide-murder. What the hell's wrong with you?

He asked if he did the right thing. No. Next time he will do the right thing and get the guy some help. What's wrong with you?

Why didn't you ask him what's the matter? Offer some human compassion?

how do you know the initial event had not already occurred you would coddle a murderer ... instinctual warnings and response sometimes is the correct avenue - as not getting yourself killed as well.

Stop with your holier than thou nonsense. It’s obvious nothing like that happened. Stop being ridiculous and help people in need. Don’t be a weenie.

It's America and folk are crazy with guns. So just best off leaving them to it.

not sure you understand the gravity of the event - seems the op is someone who would respond to other people's plight - however something that time gave them a pause and may have saved their life. that person may have already killed someone.

there was a bad atmosphere, intuition often is the correct response.

sir, are you alright - no i just killed someone and their is no hope for me - why are you bothering me ....

The key words you wrote is “may have.” You are just making this nonsense up. Doesn’t matter either. You are too chicken to help someone you are afraid of.
