I never thought of myself as a liberal, but compared to a lot of Republicans, I guess I am. Anyway, I'll try to answer. The global warming folks know that nobody is going to stop flying or driving any more than we are going to give America back to the Indians or Texas back to Mexico. The plea is to find better ways that do not exacerbate the problem. Friend Owl, we did not stop using tin cans because they contained lead, nor gas because it contained lead or paint because it contained lead. We found a safer, less deadly way. And that is the goal of the climate change movement.
