Political tides come in. And they go out.
Here’s our national disconnect, in a nutshell:
Eventually, President Trump will finish his second term. While many of us see that as basically bad news (because he is a once in a generation kind of leader), it is also true that many people see it as great news.
What the latter don’t see (and maybe aren’t able to acknowledge) is just how much President Trump is trying to accomplish. Not just policy changes. But changes addressing the many errors we have made we have chosen to allow this Constitutional republic to perform.
No. Judges aren’t the ones with Executive authority, and they ought to start getting reined in when they assert some imagined Judicial authority over matters explicitly granted to instead to the Executive Branch.
When a congressional law is signed which gives the President the authority to invoke certain emergency situations as a basis for a finding and a determination, then it is not a judicial issue at all. We should officially not give a damn if some judge would come to a different decision than dis the President.
We have a sovereign right to have our borders secured. And likewise, we have a sovereign right to determine who may and who may not be given permission to come here or be here. The Constitution provides for that. And it is a congressional issue. Under the supremacy clause, that makes it a Federal issue. Not a state or local matter.
President Trump is also very busy seeking to redress the way the U.S. has been taken-advantage of in all of these international treaties and trade agreements.
Trump is condemned for a variety of reasons. But he is not given any props for what he has accomplished.
