I have a question, to feed homeless people in america, how come cities don't plant ...

Because some enterprising homeless people would harvest all of the apples and pears, and sell them, thereby becoming rich capitalist apple or pear barons. Unfortunately, they would spend all of their hard-earned capitalist money on cheap wine and crack cocaine, and die in a gutter somewhere.

Well for one thing, fruit trees don't produce without care, maintenance, spraying with pesticides, etc. Simply eating pears and apples doesn't provide much nutrition either.

Addicts would never equate coca and poppy plants with their choice of self destruction. That would require they recognize that such things come from something other than a baggie or slip of wax paper.

Well for one thing, fruit trees don't produce without care, maintenance, spraying with pesticides, etc. Simply eating pears and apples doesn't provide much nutrition either.

I remember my uncle having a few Apple and pear trees in Illinois he didn't do a damn thing to them and they produced every year..us cousins used to have Apple and pear fights with them throwing them at each other.
