The Democrat strategery was to wait until the last possible moment, a plan B to delay the nomination.
Going to the FBI in July wouldn't have been fruitful in conjunction with the plan.
Oh, there is no doubt Feinstein deliberately delayed dropping the bombshell as late as possible in order to affect the midterm elections.
But that was the only tool left in the Democratic tool bag after the Republicans denied Merrick Garland's nomination and then changed the Senate rules to ram through Gorsuch.
Let's not pretend the Democrats are the only sleazebag shitbird scum in this picture.
you admit it's partisan crap?
now the scene is...
Democrats keep blocking Republican choices, til Democras take the Senate.
Then Republicans block Democrat choices til they take back the Senate.
How long will it be before there is only ONE Supreme Curt Justice. due to the partisanship of the idiots in the Senate?
and what do we do when that Justice dies?
anarchy.
we are prepping now.
Republican Senators (and R in general) are a very weak group overall. Very timid. Easily intimidated.
Dems are much stronger. The Dems on that committee couldn't care less what anyone thinks of them outside their core support. A disgusting and vile display to be sure. If the shoe were on the other foot, not one of them would have flipped like Flake did. In fact, this would be over long before now. The Dems have the advantage in these kinds of events because they will pay whatever the price is to win.
Would Lynch or Holder ever recuse like Sessions? Not a chance.
Even after completely destroying their parties nominee for the Supreme Court, Flake, Collins and others still want the Dems to like and approve of them. The Dems could call their spouse a murderer, and still be invited over for dinner. They want to be in the "cool kids club". But, to the Dems, they are simply useful idiots.
It is hard to blame the Dems for exploiting this obvious weakness in the Republican Party.
