Rudy is one of the most beloved football movies about a boy who always dreamed of playing for Notre Dame and refuses to take no for an answer. His dedication eventually pays off and he gets to suit up for one game and gets in for one play.

Rudy is just freaking annoying. Everyone tells him he is too small, too slow and not talented enough to play at that level. But he refuses to listen, and eventually gets on the practice squad as a glorified tackling dummy. He never actually makes the team and gets to suit up out of sympathy.

Not inspiring at all.

The reality is that Rudy should have played Div 3 football where he could have actually….PLAYED FOOTBALL
He would have actual memories of his college days not just as someone who hung out with the varsity team

Its a true story... He never wanted to be a pro... he just wanted to fulfil a childhood dream.... and in a small way he did... Its a great movie but I can see why a lazy lib wouldn't appreciate it....

Rudy should have stuck with football...

..... ..... ..... ..... Instead of getting into law and politics.

I don't see how a movie can be annoying. Way back when I watched the movie once, didn't find it memorable at all but I haven't given it another thought until now.

On the other hand, there once was a song on the radio which kept popping up (Hotel California) that had me switching stations. Now that was annoying.

Yeah, but don't forget about the scandal!

Frodo Baggins could not be reached for comment.

not surprising that a movie about an underdog that never gave up and worked hard to fulfill his dream would be offensive to a leftist ..

True but hardly inspirational

A low talent football player is given a chance to suit up for one game and play one down.

He should have played Div 3 where he could have actually played

Maybe if that underdog actually worked his way to making the team. Getting to suit up out of sympathy is not an accomplishment.
What you conservatives would call a Participation Trophy

If you want an actual inspirational movie
Check out “My All American”

About Freddie Steinmark, an undersized safety who made his way to lead the defense of the University of Texas in their 1969 championship season.
Freddie plays through immense pain in his senior season only to find out he has bone cancer and have his leg amputated before the championship game

Uninspiring take on the movie. Rudy set a goal and achieved it. Had Rudy went to D3 he would have never reached his goal.

That wouldn’t be your goal because of your life experiences, doesn’t mean it’s uninspiring to someone else. We all have different goals, opinions, ideals, doesn’t mean they have to line up with others.

So, he dreamt the impossible dream.

So, he dreamt the impossible dream.

He achieved a dream of being on the ND practice squad as a glorified tackling dummy.
Then was given a participation trophy of suiting up for one game.

If he had a realistic dream of playing Div 3 like most with his lack of actual talent, he could have actually played.

That was his quest. That was his call.

That wasn't his dream... his dream was to be a player for his favorite university... and he did it... that is what life is all about... fulfilling your dreams and aspirations... now see what you did?... you got me sounding like Kamala Harris...

I don’t care
His “dream” of being a player at Notre Dame meant one play as a participation trophy
Maybe that inspires you

You too can be a practice squad player at a major university

I think you’re viewing this a tad too literally and not enough metaphorically
