Doctor was shocked how much waxed I had loaded in my ears .
I guess that is why I have been semi deaf the last few months

He had to even switch instruments to get the gunk out and charged me extra money

You got gunk in your ears

The only thing that ever grossed me out in all my years of assisting doctors -- including plenty of small surgeries -- was ear wax. I could almost hurl when the wax came out with all of the syringed-in water.

I had a boyfriend who thought he was going deaf until the doctor just dragged a BUNCH of impacted wax out of his ears.

Like somebody else already said, TMI.

But it does explain your taste in music...

I had a bug fly into my ear one day and get right up next to my ear drum with its flapping. I really didn't care that they billed my insurance a mint as a surgical procedure to wash the bastard out with soapy water as long as it was gone.

2000 pounds of wax?

I have one of those Waterpik showerheads, so it beats the eardrum like a drum.

Okay, maybe not the eardrum, but it vibrates.

Doc said to never use them as it can push the wax down further

Exactly.
Just making sure you weren't doing it.
My Wife uses Qtips and I told her to stop and now she has hearing problems.
If I can get Her into the docs to get her ears cleaned out I'm sure she'll be amazed at the difference.
Years back the Wife and I went to Canyon lake here in Texas and I slammed pretty hard while wakeboarding.
The pressure of the impact jammed ear wax deep into my ear. It drove me nuts all weekend!!
They pulled a huge chunk of wax out of my ear, what a relief!!

Hot shower water running into your ear helps.

Squirt some Dawn into your ear then rinse it out with really hot water.
That's not the proper way. Nor hot water.

Use the bulb made for it and ear oil. Some use peroxide.

The wax serves a protective purpose but in some individuals it can get out of hand.
