She was a rescue as a kitten 9 years ago. She's always been sickly but has always recovered. I think she's run out of lives.
Shes very thin and frail now. Last few days she doesn't want to leave my side. She headbutts but doesn't want to pull back. I read it as "goodbye", "I love you", and "thank you".

I hope I'm wrong. I will miss this little friend.

We have an ornery stray that ran inside to escape cold winters cpl yrs ago and stayed. Sometimes she leaves watery small blood pools by the front door. Don't know why, vets don't either. We have 6; other cats she refuses to mingle with.
She loves to be petted though and gets her share, head butting is her go to let us know she needs pets's. She has lasted longer than we thought she would. Take Care.

So sorry. Thank you for giving her a home and love. It is always heart wrenching to lose them, and it is inevitable that we will lose them, and it's a heavy price to pay for all that unconditional love. But it's worth it.

Losing a pet is like losing a friend. I know from personal experience. Good luck with your little one, Carl. Maybe she'll be OK, that's all you can hope for. If you're not sure please take her to a vet, that would be the prudent thing to do.
She's been to a vet. Cancer. She doesn't seem to be in real pain yet. I feed her as much as she wants, but she keeps losing weight

Carl, it's so hard to let go. It is true heartbreak.
But, God said He won't keep any good thing from us. Ask the Lord to take care of her for you. She'll wait patiently for you on the comforter on your bed in your mansion. She'll be in good hands until you get there. :smiliehug:

  • May include: A painting of a man with long brown hair and a beard holding multiple cats. The man is wearing a white robe. The cats are various colors including white, brown, black, and orange. The cats are all looking at the man.

Thank you for that. It made me think of the six tiny graves we have in the back yard, and brought tears to my eyes.

One regret of pet owners is that they held on too long.

I feel so bad for you. Pets are family and the loss really hurts.

But please don't make a pet suffer needlessly. They tell you when it's time.

Prayers for her comfort and your strength.

You'll see each other again.

It is terrible to lose a loved one. No matter what the species. I feel for you. A very old cat had adopted me. A year ago he was diagnosed with kidney disease and given only 3 months to live. Last April he was also given 3 months to live.

She's still alive. Can't say she's better, but not worse. I think she used up several lives so far. She's a clingy cat, but I give her as much attention as I can. Her name is Ginger
