I am curious as to the ages of posters here.

Crick Crock Crack claims to be 54 .
As if .

Look at his Warming / Climate nonsense posts .
75 absolute mimimum .
Writes and thinks like a befuddled old chap and is Cognitively Rigid in the way I like tall buildings to be .

I am up at 4 AM wherever I am. Maybe it was the 4 AM wake up in basic training that did it.
We got to sleep until 6 AM when I was in basic, but we were still only half awake during our classes. About every fifteen minutes our instructor would yell, "ON YOUR FEET!" That would wake us up for about another fifteen minutes. This happened even outdoors in the freezing cold, we were so tired.

I have always suspected that the bulk of posters here are retired and have wondered what the age of a typical poster might be. However, despite it being a rather trivial piece of information, I do not wish anyone to post their actual ages. I would suggest that we elect someone we all trust to this extent, send him our ages and she or he can return the arithmetic average and standard deviation of what he receives over some set period of time. If no one objects, he could simply return the list of ages without names attached. I have not asked him in advance, but I would suggest poster Toddsterpatriot for this task if he was willing.

Any thoughts? Todd? Other names?
Like so?

I did basic training in Oct. 1965. Smokin' Charly C-1-3. (To think that I still remember that!) What about you?

Most fascinating is this....

After 15 years, it's the same 5 or 6 AGW obsessed regulars in this forum. It has always been dominated by skeptics.

25,000 USMB members...Crick has impressed less than 10 members over 15 years.

It's not the age that is the problem here.
What makes he place so crappy is the lack of moderation.
This place wants page views (and $'s) to the exclusion of everything else.

These (80% RW) rejects from other boards land here because they can Bash "Libs" and high-five each other with impunity/Not content.
You can post pure insults and one-word/line harassment except perhaps having 1/1% of them removed if reported... but come back the next day and do it again.. for YEARS.
There are No days off for repeat offenders, No thread bans, and No section bans.

Truly mentally disturbed people like EMH get thrown off every board.. but here he's just prolific and popular lunatic who generates lots of page views.

Also, and crucially, there is No real block-poster function as on, ie, FB. Not only won't the mods protect you, one can't do it for one's self. You can only Blind yourself while getting mocked and funny feedbacks from the person who is harassing/Trolling you.
I tried to change this, but despite some minor support Flacalteen was not about to cut 20% of the page view$.

That's the problem.
`
Jesus dude.
Lighten up a little.

On topic, I am old enough and generation X enough to be heavily sarcastic, distrusting of authority, not really give a damn, but am endlessly entertained by those losing their shit online.

I thought Crick would have been a teenager because the younger generation are more gullible with the climate debacle, generally you get more wise and more common sense with age.

I did basic in the spring of 1963, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. I was also C-1-3.

I'm guessing you slept in those old wooden barracks as well?

Holy shit! We were both C-1-3 at Fort Lost in the Woods in the state of Misery! I can't believe it! Do you remember the posters that stated Rose's Chicken Shack was "off limits" in ... I forgot the name of that town.
EDIT. Waynesville!

Why is everyone concerned about stating their age?

I just checked the nearby towns, and none sounded familiar. The closest is Waynesville, just to the north. I don't recall going off base at all during basic.

No, I was never off base either. No free time. But to answer your other question .... I was in the two story barracks so I suppose they were not wooden. The wooden ones were the mess hall and that damned building where we got a shitload of injections. I passed out after the "bend over and grab your ankles" gigantic shot of bicillin and I woke up to a vile of amonia under my nose.

I also collapsed with that shot but didn't pass out. The two-story barracks were indeed wooden, with the shower on the first floor. I remember helping to drag a Jewish guy down the stairs, threatening him with a "G.I." bath with scrub brushes. He wouldn't bathe and stunk like hell. He relented but then put his dirty underwear back on. We gave up. We only had to threaten a black guy who also stunk to high heaven. He knew we were serious.

I'm guessing I was in the 6th. grade (I'll have a closer look) but I was definitley RA 1965 -1968.
I was RA as well, 1963-1966. My life was such a mess that I had to get away from it. It helped a great deal. When I got home, I had a clean slate.

Nowaitaminut! How could you be in 6th grade in 1963 and be in basic training in 1965?

Maybe I was thinking about the Cuba missile crisis. I mean Jesus there was Sputnik, Cuba missile crisis, murder of Kennedy, Splish Splash .... so many things happened back then.
