It's not a president's decision to make...
It is a President you don't like who will do his best for Floridians. It's not a president's decision to make...
an area hit by a hurricane automatically qualifies for assistance. If a president was no longer living and breathing a hurricane hit area would receive federal assistance/federal funds.
whatever your beef is with Florida I could careless. I don't live in Florida. I'm going to put you on ignore. For some reason you're not going to stop hurting people as they are going through a lot at this time.
Stop being an idiot, you whiner. The US guv is going to do its best for FL despite stupid MAGA.whatever your beef is with Florida I could careless. I don't live in Florida. I'm going to put you on ignore. For some reason you're not going to stop hurting people as they are going through a lot at this time.
That perfectly sums up my experience in Myrtle Beach during Hurricane Matthew in 2016. Three days without power, fallen trees everywhere. One restaurant had a limited menu, but after downtown Myrtle Beach, my favourite restaurant had a full menu. The insurance company paid like 300 dollars for five thousand dollars worth of damage. In fact my power outage was from of course, a fallen tree. My way of passing the time was flushing legos down the toilet. And no, my water doesn't use electricity unless it is hot water.Houston, New Orleans, Mississippi, Florida...
We have been through that so many times.
Spoiled Food
All frozen food spoils after two days of no electricity, but those of us who go through lots of hurricanes we know to get the meats washed and on the grill right away. As most of your restaurants will not have any electricity. They will be closed. We also do not stock up on very much food at all during hurricane season. Usually a Chick-fil-A will get a generator up and going for everyone to eat at, so will a gas station. Everyone will be looking for ice for a cooler to create a make-shift fridge, and this is needed if there are babies and small kids to keep the milk cold. On the bright side each address that requests help will get about $750 from FEMA to replace food no worries there.
Depression
After about 3-4 days without electrical power sadness and depression will start to set in, so you all go cheer each other up. "Pray" The lights will come back on be patient.
Cooling/Warming Centers
Take advantage of these locations that have generators to where you can charge your devices daily. This southeastern situation is unique as there are several states without electricity at the same time, so it will take some time.
Fallen Trees
Those with fallen trees. It costs some where between $1,200-$1,400 to get one cut up and removed off of your property. If trees fall on the street the city will clear it, but they will not clear any tree debris from your private property. You must first get it cut up and placed on the side of the curb. If the tree falls half way on your property and the street, you pay for the part on your property to be cut up.
The dark side
Insurance adjusters are going to screw you over. This is where you learn that like a good neighbor State Farm will not be there for you. They are the devil who has been taking your money, but will not want to help you. Just the facts. You have to fight them maybe even hire a lawyer. Their agents are hired to smoke you which means... scalping you, cutting you up, thinning you out, and smoking you like a buffalo over a flame of fire until there is nothing left in you. They have already increased your deductible so high that you're out of thousands upfront. This is the dark ugly side of being a screwed-over adult. Oh yea... never mention the word "Mold" to an insurance agent or else your claim will be denied. Other than that, good luck in the devil's den.
wow, 1037 people missing ???Well Helene will be retired. The death toll is not final and is expected to climb even further.

1. My substance is all that is neded (post 94)your substance is minimal, since asylum seekers can cross the border.
As a signatory to the 1967 Protocol, and through U.S. immigration law, the United States has legal obligations to provide protection to those who qualify as refugees. The Refugee Act established two paths to obtain refugee status—either from abroad as a resettled refugee or in the United States as an asylum seeker.1. My substance is all that is neded (post 94)
2. Asylum needs to be abolished.
Congress has to allocate the funds first. FEMA is a unicorn in terms of its budget. So far as I know, it is the only agency that has two different budgets. The one congress approves is rather limited without a ton of money for relief and is geared toward normal day to day operations and some very limited emergency aid. Congress then goes back and allocates specific new money based on the individual disaster event(s) scaled to the anticipated costs. It's not a president's decision to make...

Some good news. "Update" weatherman
No copycat storm coming into the gulf. It will be a "tropical storm" a rain event and no hurricane.
A lot of people will not be online and in this site today because of no electricity.
In July 2024 we had to deal with Hurricane Beryl coming through. That thing tore up the city of Houston it was a mess. We were with out electricity for weeks. I'm talking hundred degree weather and no electricity. We have suffered a lot. Mentally we cannot take on another storm this year. I'm sure New Orleans and Florida feel the same. Without electricity we could not use the computers/internet at home for very long. None it works properly without electrify. Batteries run down super fast.
