Hunter's Pardon a FU to the Dems

It seems obvious to me. The Dems kicked him under the bus and even though he understood (as much as he understands anything these days) the damage to his party, he didn't give a rat's ass.

My son would never be in scumbag Hunter’s position. But if I were President and my son had been found guilty of serious federal gun charges and was also facing a criminal trial for tax evasion, I would pardon my son, too.

But I wouldn’t have ever declared ahead of time that I wouldn’t do so.

There is more to the analysis, of course. If Hunter were to be exposed to cross examination in his pending tax case, what he might say could implicate the “big guy.”

This pardon might very well constitute a Potato coverup effort.

I think one issue about the Hunter pardon not being mentioned is how Joe has put Hunter into the spotlight the last several months. In just about every appearance of Joe, Hunter is in the background. Hunter's kid holding Joe hand more often than not. Jill's shopping with Hunter and his wife, Hunter appearing with Joe on the WH balcony...

In a surprising legal move, special counsel David Weiss filed a motion in the California federal court where Hunter Biden’s tax case is being conducted, calling on the judge not to dismiss the charges following President Joe Biden’s pardon that was announced on Sunday.

Biden’s pardon covers the period from Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 1, 2024. That time frame includes Hunter’s jury-trial convictions in June for lying on a federal form about his drug use when he purchased a handgun. It also covers his September conviction on nine charges related to his failure to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes from 2016 through 2019.

Hunter faced a maximum of 17 years in prison for his tax offenses.

No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong. There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me – and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.
