I saw this article and I have to disagree. The restaurant served the party and did not start pressing for their departure until after the 90 minute seating policy had expired. I think the articles author was making much ado about nothing. This kind of reporting creates more problems.

Not quite. From what I understand, they were asked to leave before the ninety minutes were up.

They didn't refuse to serve them. They had been served and paid. The lunch meeting extended beyond normal seating time and the restaurant wanted the table. But go ahead---like the sensationalist author of the article---you and he say it together "REEEEEEEEEEE."

The restaurant seems to be sending mixed messages. On the one hand the restaurant said:

“After the party completed their meal, a member of the security detail was quietly asked to help conclude the visit in line with our standard 90-minute table policy."
On the other hand they also said:

“Allowing her to stay risked being perceived as a lack of support for the community that makes up the majority of our team, as well as their families and friends,” the statement said. "Ultimately, we made the decision to support our employees and guests who expressed they were uncomfortable.”
If it was only about the 90 minute policy then why all the rhetoric about supporting their employees? For that matter, what the hell do the employees' friends, family and community have to do with the restaurant's 90 minute table policy?

The restaurant also said:

“As her security presence became more visible in the dining room, some employees and guests expressed discomfort,”

What the hell does that mean? Were the security personnel kind of faded when they arrived and slowly solidified over the course of 80 minutes and became more visible? That makes absolutely no sense; they were just as visible when they arrived as they were after the meal.
